What's the SD on the duo arrested in DC yesterday?

The important thing is that we exhausted all other possibilities, such as literally nothing, before you came to this conclusion.

I remember him, too, but I couldn’t remember his name or which group he led. Thanks for the link.

It was quite a surprise to me, too.

This is IMHO. I think they will lawyer up and stop answering questions from the feds until a plea deal is reached. They’re not going to be waterboarded was my point.

Glad to hear that. Under enhanced interrogation they would tell the investigators whatever they thought they wanted to hear. They are clearly good at making it up.

The whole story is beyond weird. The most mysterious part is the credulousness of the secret service agents. I guess everyone has a price.

Totally, in their position answering questions from the feds would be incredibly dumb. So I would assume they would do just that given their past behavior.

Even if they do lawyer up and keep quiet how much eventually comes out will depend on what kind of jail time they are looking out. One interesting point I was not aware of, I learned in Twitter, is this was all triggered by a Postal Inspector after the assault on a mailman. Apparently Postal Inspectors are pretty hardcore and the kind of sentences doled out for mail related offenses are serious. You do not want to end up on the wrong side of a Postal Inspectors investigation.

Not the first time Secret Service agents got into trouble. About a decade ago, eleven Secret Service agents were caught screwing around with prostitutes while in Colombia ahead of the Summit of the Americas.

I think we’d like to think that the Secret Service is comprised of the best of the best but that may not be the case.

Step one. Get access to SS details for Biden and Harris.
Step two. Wait for Republicans to regain the House.
Step three. Appoint TFG to Speaker Of The House.
Step four. Assassinate Biden and Harris.
Step five. DJT is POTUS.

Farfetched?

Yeah there should not be a threshold where the regular constitutional protection does not apply and the feds can do whatever the fuck they want to get an answer. But even if there was this is absolutely no where near that threshold.

No one has a nuke, even if there is some kind of threat revealed to the executive branch, I am sure whatever threat there was has long since disappeared.

The fact people are talking about it in this case is a really good demonstration of why having a theshold like that is a really bad idea. People are always going to push the envelope downwards until the constitutional protections never apply.

The only bit of that is not far fetched is the level of competency shown in this plot is exactly what you’d expect from DJT and his supporters.

In retrospect this is unfair. It would way more incompetent if Trumpists were behind it. They’d probably have been caught trying to bribe Secret Tea Service tea shop in Washington State.

If the suspects are indeed from Iran or Pakistan, they may be used to a culture in which government agents are feared and deferred to. They may have thought that intimidating the building residents was a good idea.

What I don’t get is why, if they had been told about the equipment and the theft of information, they didn’t report it to the police.

This. I used to work for the Postal service and met a few. Serious fellows.
