What's the story with First Wave(Sci-Fi)?

Does anyone watch this show? I saw part of tonights episode, first time I’ve ever seen it. It seemed kinda cool.

What’s the story with this show? I know almost nothing about it. How long has it been on? What’s the basic premise? Is it cool?

And what the crap was up with tonights episode? Alien pods? Who was that chick at the end?

Sorry for the barrage of questions. :o

Judging from the few episodes I’ve seen, it appears to just be a poorly thought out, badly written, third rate X-Files rip off. And (warning: opinon coming in) X-Files wasn’t a good show to begin with.

The basic concept seems to involve some kind of invasion by an embarassingly stupid race of aliens. The hero fights this by wandering around aimlessly and “helping” people in a sort of touchy-feely, unbelivably condesending, white man’s burden type of way. I’m not sure how this is supposed to stop the aliens, but that’s ok, I doubt the writers do either.

The writing really is terrible. I mentioned that before, but it bears repeating. It makes Walker Texas Ranger look like Babylon 5.

It can be safely ignored. It’s been around for a few years, I think.

Note to sci-fi network . . . THIS is the show you should be hiding at 9 AM saturday morning.

“The unbearable whiteness of being.”

It is more like “The Invaders” with an attitude.
Yes, it’s cool.

All I know is that Tracy Lords is now in the series.

Caveat: I’ve only seen a whopping one episode, although they seemed to cover a lot of the background (clichés) in it.

I have the impression that the whole mess is about (get this) an imminent alien invasion predicted by Nostradamus. The hero’s wandering isn’t entirely aimless (or at least he thinks it isn’t); it’s directed by someone trying to interpret verses from ol’ Nostradamus. Apparently, the aliens are trying to soften us up by doing weird, mean, and utterly pointless stuff to people in out-of-the-way places.

I’m with Ura on this one. Judging from what I saw, the show is a bad mix of the Pretender, X-files, and an awful Nostradamus show on the History Channel. Any initial coolness will surely fall before the unending barrage of clichés ("…on the field of battle…", no doubt).
