What's the Straight Dope on Liv and Steve?

I’ve heard and read a few different versions of the ‘reveal’.

#1. Mia Tyler and Liv Rungrund were friends and noticed their remarkable resemblance. A few inquiries and Liv’s mom confessed.

#2. Liv saw Steve at a concert and knew instantly that he was her father.

#3. Steve saw Liv at a party and, now sober, realized she was his daughter.

Does anybody have the real scoop? How old was Liv when she learned the truth? And what about Tod, who knowing Liv wasn’t his, gave her his name and raised her?

Please feed my unhealthy fixation with celebrity gossip.

If the IMDB is to be believed, she asked her mother for the truth.

I read* that Liv and Mia were friends, and they both noticed the simialrites between the two of them, Live then went to her mother and asked who her real father was, and she told her it was Steven Tyler.

So if thats the truth, looks like both one and two are right.
*Read this in an interview for one of the LOTR films, and I think it was in either Empire, or Total Film, Id check except I dont have the magazines with me.
