What's the temperature at your house these days? (posted July 10, 2022)

How high’s the temp, mama?
89 and rising.

75F/24C

Breezy from WNW, feels cool in the shade.

102F right now, but it thankfully only feels like 100.

My computer claims it’s 66F “in my area,” but it’s gotta be at least the low 70s.

But we’re inside the fog zone, and we’ve been having a June Gloom in July. A bit more humidity than usual, but also less hot.

Please be careful, Texan dopers:

From the article:

A full autopsy report on Barber obtained by the Fort Worth Star-Telegram shows that when police officers arrived at Barber’s rented apartment to check on him, the thermostat was set to 91 degrees with the heat set to “on.”

“Mr. Barber was known to exercise in sauna-like conditions,” the medical examiner wrote in the report, according to the Star-Telegram.

He had been there for six days… :anguished:

To a Canadian like myself, those temperatures sound less like weather and more like directions for a slow-cooked pot roast! :astonished:

Saturday is definitely supposed to be hot here, by which I mean about 30°C (86 degrees Amurrkin), but highs until then will be around 26° (79°F).

But y’all can brag about weather next January when we up here are so desperate for warmth that we flee to Texas, Florida, and other points south!

Right now, at 2:41 am, it’s 84 degrees. That’s just not right!

Nothing to brag about. There have been days in December and January where it topped out in the mid 80s (~30 for y’all) down here. That’s just not right. Especially when you discover the A/C needs repair.

Hey, I was very happy to find out that my AC needed repair in April. It’s better than finding out in August.

When I headed out the door to walk the dogs around 6am it was a VERY nippy 48 degrees. I was wishing I had some gloves. By the time our walk ended it was 10 degrees warmer. It should eventually get into the low 70s today. With an easterly wind, Lake Superior will be keeping us cooler. This weekend and next week it should be in the mid to high 80s during the day with lows at night in the low 60s. And I’m guessing the humidity will be pretty high. It’s only 59 degrees right now and the humidity is 75%.

Wow, it only got to 94F in south Dallas today. It peaked around 11AM, then got cloudy and cooled off. Paradise.

A cold snap!!

Today it’s not predicted to break 100. Just the high 90s. Yay!

We got about 14 drops of rain yesterday evening. I know. I counted them.

We too are enjoying a better day here in SoFL. It rained briefly earlier and the seabreeze is up. The temp is 89F/32C vice the 91F/33C and almost windless of the last 2 days. This is perfect weather in every way.

Color me a very happy camper trapped in COVID jail out on my patio.

High of 87 today in Virginia, but we get a lot of humidity so that makes it feel hotter. Still not too bad if you’re not working or not in the sun.

And the news from London is that the next couple of days will see a short heatwave that may reach 40C or 104F. That will be a historic record and it is being regarded as national red alert. Much fuss is being made.

Appropriately so. People are going to die. They aren’t equipped to cope with those temps.

Today’s high was 108 F; it is currently 90 F at 8 PM. Inside house temps are kept hovering around 80 F to keep electric bills low and to decrease our carbon footprint a bit.

Just before noon and 34°C (93 F) with a heat index of 45° C (113 F). Fortunately, it’s still July so things aren’t bad yet. . .

I still have no idea why I let myself get talked into moving here. August and September are killer months.

10am here and 88F/31C with nil wind and our typical July mild (to me) humidity. A few puffy clouds now with a high chance of scattered thunder later.

In the breezeless direct Sun it’s a bit much. In the shade it’s pretty nice.
