I read this book about a year ago, a really terrible copy that someone I knew bought a a used book store (I’m assuming it’s out of print). It was a Dada-ist work in play format by (I believe) Tristan Tzara. The main characters all had names like truth or envy, and everything they said revolved around their names. There was also a character named Fire Exstinguisher (sp?) whose dialouge was some bizarre noise like “bi-bi-bi-bi-bi-bi-bi-bi!” repeated for several pages everything he spoke.
Could it be The First Celestial Adventure of Mr. Anti-Pyrine, Fire-Extinguisher?
That seems to be a poem or performance of some sort. Could it have been on of Tristan’s collections of poetry thta you read?
I don’t know anything about Dada-ism or Tzara Tristan, that is just the result of a quick search.
