So I heard a song on the radio last night and I really want to find out the name of it. But the only things I remember were it had banjos, people were rapping to the banjos and it sounded kinda dance/techno-ish. It was on the local dance radio station. I figured I could post this here as opposed to General Questions since it seems more fitting here. Thanks alot!
I might as well ask the obvious question: Did you try to find out whether the station has a web site? If so, there may be a playlist posted.
Just quickly off the top of my head … “Cotten Eyed Joe?”
It could be Swamp Thing by The Grid - I think it came out around the same time as ‘Cotton Eye Joe’, but is nowhere near as annoying, despite still containing banjo.
It’s not cotton-eyed joe, I have that cd actually.
I did check the radio station play list, and it only lists the most recently played songs and the top 20 songs.
It’s not the grid song either.
See…it’s like ALL banjos but they’re playing really fast, upbeat version and there’s men doing rap along with it. Not the hard rap, more like general hip hop sound. It’s driving me crazy! Thanks for the suggestions so far!

No…that’s not it either. It sounded kinda new and I’d never heard it before.
Is it something by Big and Rich? I’d never heard of these guys until I saw them on some late night show, but they seem to be a musical act mixing country-twangy stuff with rock/dance music. I could be totally off base; I know nothing of modern country!

Millit, I checked out some of the songs by Big and Rich but the style is completely different. The only thing ‘country’ about the song I heard was the fact there were banjos playing. No country twang, no southern accents.
Maybe I was dreaming I heard the song or something
