What's this TV show?

It aired in syndication in I wanna say 1995 or 1996. My local station that carried it was the same station that carried UPN programming but a look through UPN’s list of programs doesn’t ring any bells. The show was set at a Los Angeles TV station, centering around the news department. I can’t remember the names of any of the actors and have only a vague impression that one of the characters, the Latina anchorwoman, was named “Liz Vargas” or “Liz Vasquez” or something similar. The only plot-related thing I can remember is a scheme undertaken by the station’s cameraman to create and market a “Girls Gone Wild” type videotape featuring women in bikinis firing guns and the taping of a segment of the tape set to the Cramps song “Bikini Girls with Machine Guns.” Anyone?

Pretty sure it was “Live Shot”?

Was it Los Angeles or Miami? Because it sounds kind of like the moderately lousy sitcom Good Morning, Miami, starring Mark Feuerstein, Suzanne Pleshette, Jere Burns, Ashley Williams and Tessie Santiago.

Yup, that’s it. It was “Liz Vega,” not “Vargas.” Well done.
