What's this year's Cabbage Patch?

Every year, during the Christmas season, one toy gets all the attention and none of the production. What will that manufactured shortage gift be this year?

I submit the Sing and Boogie Blue as a possibility. But I have yet to venture fully into the toy catalogues.

For bigger kids, my money is on the iPod. My sister-in-law ordered one a few weeks back and it is backordered until November.

Back in the Cabbage Patch days, I tried to get some mileage out of a joke about “Cabbage Patch Baby Fay” who had an artichoke heart. It required an eye on the news, so it didn’t get far. YMMV. Folks in the factory who had managed to buy one of the rare dolls raffled them off. We were all working overtime, so it didn’t take long to sell off 50 two-dollar tickets.I won one myself, but I didn’t have any nieces of the right ages, so I re-raffled it. I made 98 dollars. I raffled off a few dozen pocketknives, too.
