What's Trump's end game for the last 14 days of his presidency?

I would imagine that AF1 is always fully fueled. You never know if the Pres. would have to be airborne and heading for the West Coast in an emergency.

If he was to skip to e.g. Russia, how likely is Russian government to accept a USSS contingent guarding Trump the private US citizen? IMO not very.

The Russian authorities may well encourage Trump to hire private guards, or even be accorded some from the FSB. But USSS? My Magic 8-Ball says “Nope. NFW” Discobot says
@Discobot fortune

ETA: It seems I disagree with that useless blob o’ bits.

:crystal_ball: Yes

Just tell him that as he isn’t President any more, executive privilege no longer applies, so the Secret Service agents will be free to testify to anything they witness while they’re on duty, and he’ll voluntarily waive their protection himself.

Is it true? Who cares? Tell him anyway.

I conclude that the Pronouncements of Discobot, Blessed be He They It must now be taken with a hefty grain of potassium cyanide.

Hmmm. It appears that Trump Turnberry is closed until 5 February due to COVID. I know he owns the place, so maybe he’s just planning on having the links to himself?

A golf outing in Scotland in January? I’ve never been there, certainly not in the winter, but do people play golf this time of year in Scotland?

Like… for instance… Forest Fires… < cough > < cough >

Could Scotland not tell him to fuck off? Extraordinary step, I admit. But I’d love to see it from the land that coined C.F.S.G.

I’d like Scotland to surround CFSG golf course with wind mills. No strike that, coal mines or peat operations. Through in a few stock yards while they are at it.

According to weather.com, Glasgow will have highs in the 30’s/low 40’sF and Edinburgh about the same. Presume the weather would be worse north of there. So possible, but surely not as comfortable as Mar-A-Lago…

At the risk of derailing, I would beg to differ with this. True, Trump is exceptionally stupid, dishonest, and selfish. But apart from that, I believe these broadside attacks on democracy were inevitable from whatever Republican president followed Obama in 2016.

Ted Cruz absolutely would have… is currently helping… to do the same thing. Pence would have done the same. They’re just responding to what Republican voters want, and what they want is to prevent another Obama (or any other Democrat) by any means necessary. And I’m not sure those voters will ever quit wanting that.

Thursday’s weather in Glasgow, 50 km from the golf course:

-2 C and sleet in the morning, turning to clouds and +2C in the afternoon. Not great golf weather.

Oh come on, these are Scots! Just put on another sheep and go out and whack those balls!

“Och, it’s a fine, fine day for motorcar racing fleeing felon golfing!”

On the other hand, it’s Fine Golf Cheating Weather!

“Mr. Trump, we couldn’t find your balls.”
“I hear that a lot. Server Incompetence, remove two strokes from my score. Next hole…”

< electric cart scoots off >

Look under the mushroom.

  1. Make money
  2. See #1 above

“Oh, groundskeeper…! Could you remove that offending mushroom please?”

“It’s not the wee mushroom that’s the problem There’s 25 stone of slimy roots it’s attached to.
I’ll need a crane…”

Between him on one side and the crew and Secret Service on the other. The instant he stops being president the Pilot in Command of what is now just callsigned something like “US Air Force (tail/mission number) Heavy” obeys the legal chain of command and so does the Secret Service. They are tasked with his protection not with executing his will. It would be an unpleasant few hours of ranting and yelling on his part but no debate.

Yeah, seriously, of course they’d have to be sure there is a full fuel supply for the plane, even for the simple reason that it has to come back to Andrews at some point, with or without him.
