Was it for real or made up? If it was made up, how did it get started, and are people still serving jail time?
…and more importantly, what happened in Wenatchee, WA?
Any input from AuraSeer?
Signs are that it was “made up” (though not intentionally). It was one of the first big daycare cases in which kids were led by well-meaning therapists into creating false memories of abuse that never happened. I do think that some are still serving jail time for crimes that were never committed.
I’ll see what I can find on it on the web.
Haven’t had much time to search, but I checked my own archives and found a couple things I’d written on the subject.
The first is from Nov. 1995, part of a regular media review column I write. Here is the link, but it’s the second item, so you have to page down once or twice: http://www.reall.org/newsletter/v03/n11/reallity.html
Here is a short update from the following month. It’s the third item, so you have to page down a few more times: http://www.reall.org/newsletter/v03/n12/reallity.html
Unfortunately, I don’t seem to have revisited it any more recently. If I have time, I’ll see what else I can dig up.
