I always score an A+ on my blood tests!
:smack:
My arm-poker told me Saturday that I’m O+. They hunted around for my vein, unsuccessfully, on Thursday, and they told me to drink more water before I returned on Saturday. I was determined to do my bit, so I did just that. I rushed right to the Blood Center from the gym, and I don’t think I’ll do that again. Giving blood right after a workout made me a little light-headed.
O plus.
I’m an AB+ I typed my blood myself in HS, but was glad to have it confirmed by the Red Cross. I have my 4 gallon pin.
AB+ isn’t useless at all, they always give me a “special handling” tag and speak very nicely to me as they are draining me dry.
My blood type is also my philosophy on life. B+!!!
Same here. Once they found out I was O Negative, the Red Cross called me about once a week for years.
Most folks can take O Negative blood. This site has a chart of who can take what
Bout 7% of the population is O negative.
O+.
I’m on the Red Crosses sucker list, and I fall for it, every time.
If I ever visit Europe, they’re going to be quite pissed at me for cutting their blood supply.
Likes helping the Red Cross, but thinks they’re a bit too picky about some things
I’m sorry sir. You’re going to have to leave…
I’m B+ but I spent three years in England in the early 80s so the Red Cross won’t take my blood anymore. I’m on indefinite suspension. It’s too bad, too. I worked very hard to bring up the iron level in my blood - for THEM!! I can’t take adult vitamins (too hard on the stomach) so, per advice from the Red Cross, I started taking two Flintstone vitamins with iron each day and gave up tea. According to the RC, the tannic acid in tea inhibits the absorbtion of iron from food. I don’t know anything medical, but my blood became good, before it went bad.
I’m another with the incredibly common type of A+. Mom’s A+, dad’s A+, so both my brothers are as well. We’re an A+ kinda family!
Another O neg here. You want blood? Take mine! Odds are it will work! I try to donate regularly, since my blood is so valuble.
B-, rather rare if I do say so myself. I donate blood and platelets on a somewhat regular basis.
During the Cold War each kid in my school was given a dog tag with her or his name, father’s name, address, blood type and religious preference (for burial purposes, I suppose.)
I was A+ Protestant.
A negative. But the Red Cross doesn’t want my blood as long as I take Adderall.
An overachieving Baptist?
I’m O-something. I typed myself back in high school bio class, but they didn’t buy the Rh factor kit. My dad was O-, so he was extremely popular with the Red Cross. I haven’t given blood; I’m very tough to get a decent stick on just for a small blood test, much less for donating.
Another O negative. I honestly thought there were less of us around. Now I don’t feel unique anymore.
I don’t know it. How can I find this out?
O+. I’ve known that since I was old enough to pick my own nose. Mom was a nurse. How could anyone not know their blood type??
Unfortunately, being O+ apparently also means that one of the people who are supposed to be my mommy and daddy is not my mommy or daddy. Oops!
Donate to Red Cross; they’ll mail you a little card with your blood type on it. That’s how I found out.
Another AB+ here. We did bloodtyping when I took Anatomy in high school, but my teacher was sure I had done it wrong. Had it confirmed by a doctor when I had surgery, though. I’ve tried donating blood, but I always get disqualified based on medications I’m taking.
