What's your current desktop wallpaper?

This is the creek that ran through the backyard for the house where I grew up.

It was taken by a friend when she was in photography class in HS.

My wallpapers are usually pictures drawn by my best friend and other friends of his and mine of characters from the stories I write.

This is my home wallpaper , by my best friend’s gf, which is a picture of vampire medical researcher Dr. Christophe Feuilly-LaMarche and his young pupil and future wife Isabelle Devanney Underdown.

And this is my work wallpaper, which is of vampire librarian/archivist Arkady Luzhin, drawn by my friend Shan.

I like the cute styles.

I just got this Firefox wallpaper today. It just looks so sleek…and modern…it was irresistible.

(Ground-breaking first post, huh? Figured I’d start small.)

On my desktop, I have Deep Crow wallpaper, from Penny Arcade.

On my laptop in Windows, I have a plain dark blue background, and in Ubuntu, I have it set to display this image of a lucky cat , although in a higher resolution and without the watermark. I particularly like the lucky cat one because the “LucK” character is part of my Chinese name.

On my Army-issued tablet PC which I never use, the desktop is a cool green background saying “This system certified to display UNCLASSIFIED information only”, with “UNCLASSIFIED” being in big bold letters in the middle of the screen, and the rest of the message above and below in smaller print.

The photo on the right of Wineglass Bay where I was married in January. I have to remind me of why I am working!

my home wallpaper. (my kids say ‘its You, daddy!’ )
I could say I was born handsome, but I’d be lying…

This:

All the coffee in Colombia will not make me a morning person. (Stolen from a T-shirt)

I recently discovered That Mitchell and Webb Look, and this shot of Sir Digby Chicken Caesar and Ginger currently holds the place of honor.

Now if you’ll excuse me, I have to find my nemesis, some chap behind it all who’s presumably responsible.

My work desktop is a shot of a barn in the middle of a early July cornfield. Reminds me of home.

This is on my laptop. It makes me laugh and laugh.

That’s freakin’ brilliant!

My desktop is currently sporting this cool pic of Rush drummer, Neil Peart, behind his kit.

Me too!

This is me (left) and my friend Anne watching the preparations for the annual Cape May baby parade.

I got a totally weirdass painting by weirdass Symbolist artist Giovanno Segantini.

The mountains make me feel nice 'n cool in the summer heat, but the floating dead redheads are the best part.

My wallpaper is a pic from a book from T Pratchett. I’ve tried to find the book name through my local library & Amazon. It had to do with “the oldest hero.” Sound familiar, anyone?

Anyway, my wallpaper is a pic of the unseen university’s librarian piloting the wooden ship that went over the edge of the discworld. The picture is of an orangutan grinning while his hands were on the “steering wheel” and his feet were at the edge of the picture.

People look at my wallpaper askance, I ask them…“what…haven’t you ever seen a librarian?”

Love, Phil

Some guys DO make passes at girls in glasses! Custom-made by me (although I can’t believe a posed photo like that wasn’t ALREADY made into desktop wallpaper!)

This picture of my kid. He was so thrilled when I put it up because he thought it meant he was famous.

Greg Norman’s shark.

I’m currently deciding between Cezanne’sHouse of the Hanged Man, which is my all time favourite painting and the photo my daughter took on her trip away last week.

And I’ve just noticed the similar colouring both in the mid-ground and the distant mountains.

I like the color.

This reminds me, I wish there was some option in Windows to make the text on icons completely black so it’s easier to see them on a white background. Or, if such a thing exists, that I could find it.

It’s not. I’d guess it’s made with Bryce.

I currently have a wallpaper from The Dark Knight, that the Joker has defaced. But I normally get my wallpapers from 3D Art sites. I’ll find a great piece of art in a book or online, then visit the artist’s homepage to find the best res version of their art to use. Such as for example, here.
