What's your dream job?

Sounds like a plan!

I would like to own my own small winery or brewery, a dream I plan on making reality at some point in the next 10-15 years.

Guitar tuner for Jeff Beck or field tester for the Moonlight Bunny ranch.

My dream job (as a college grad) would actually to be an editorial assistant or similar at Random House. I love their books.

Just got a nice offer at my town’s library though…children’s services assistant. Get to be surrounded by books and kids. Hopefully this job will pay for grad school so I can get a masters in book publishing in a few years.

I want to run a small sportfishing business out of Costa Rica or some other warm, beautiful place for six months out of the year. I’d like to spend the other six months in a small log cabin in a remote location in the woods, where I’d paint, write, and hone my guitar skills.

Dream job? White House Chief of Staff in the first Libertarian administration.

Kitemaker

I would dearly love to be a full-time kitemaker, being able to earn my living exclusively by making kites. (I love making single-line box kites!)

Also, I’d like to brush-up on my Arabic and be a translator/interpreter.

This sounds awesome. I don’t know how you would make money but do you know of any such place that already exists? Especially in Los Angeles?

I want to be a tattoo and piercing artist but it’s just a dream

I would love to do Set Design for theatre, or props construction would be cool too. Although I already work in theatre and occasionally get to play in the Props department.

well, i couldn’t speak for los angeles…never been out there.
detroit has the cass corridor, or at least, traditionally, that’s where artists seem to have spawned from. i think there are a few workshops there.

buffalo has a small warehouse type place with artsy people around it.

it’s amazing how people who aren’t very artsy will claim that such things are completely useless. artsy people, however, will claim that they’re not only good, but necessary. middle ground is very rarely ever found. i have no artistic talents, per se, but art is a very important thing, whether it be painting, writing, music, or performance art.

see, one of my first things to do when i’m mayor of my home city, is to have a big wall built (and put under surveillance). anyone around is free to paint or graffiti or do whatever they wish to the wall in an artistic manner. if gang signs or violent threats appear on it, the entire thing gets painted over and everyone’s work gets spoiled.

i wish everyone had the ability to skillfully draw or depict what they see. i think it’d speak volumes to compare a polaroid with what their interpretation of it is, and then compare that to others’ perceptions.

i’ll stop my unintentional hijack now.

i poked around a little bit and found this. it looks like it’s for public school children, but there’s a contact email on the page. i’m sure she would have a lot more information on groups of people working on/in art in the area. good luck.

A wildly successful author.

I want to create/direct my own feature (or short) animated films. The great thing about this day and age, is that the current advancement in computer technology makes reaching a far flung goal like this a remote possibility. Wish me luck

what would you write?

Welllllllllllllllll…I have been working on a fantasy/adventure/romance type novel off and on for >whispers< about 16 years. I have written and re-written, refined and revised. I know the characters inside out, and have enough material for at LEAST a 3 or 4 part series… the second generation of my characters are all planned out.

I just haven’t got the foggiest idea how to go about selling it. :frowning:

Professional shittake mushroom ignorer. I’d so love to be paid for that!

A princess!!!

okay maybe not.
I’d love to be a ballerina. Seriously. That’s my dream job- to allow my entire life to revolve around ballet.
I’d also love to be a Broadway actress. The singing dancing acting type who belts difficult songs flawlessly while doing extremely athletic dance steps

Or a movie actress.

In short, my ideal job would be: LEGEND.

Batting leadoff for the world champion Chicago White Sox.

Now all I need is that ‘talent’ thing I hear so much about.

Err Hi… If you’d like to feel free to send me an email, I’m told that this is not the place to chat to people.

I think I’ve already been told off for flirting here, and I’ve certainly been told off for showing off and attention seeking. I’m new to this, I don’t know what the deal is, it seems I’ve been doing something very wrong (because people keep saying I’m doing things that I wasn’t trying to do). So I’m planning to keep my head down for a while and see if I can learn, by reading rather than participating, how to be here but not offend anyone.

So to whoever I offended, annoyed, got in the way of, etc. I’m very sorry.

My dream job is to be a housewife and homeschooling mother.

The housewife/mom part is what I always wanted, even as a kid.

I am pretty much living the dream, except we’re not married. The pay sucks…that’s my only complaint.
