What's Your Favorite Album Cover?

Are those panties in his back pocket? I never noticed that before.

Joe Satriani, Surfin with the alien

The Beatles, Revolver

Tie between Meet the Beatles and England’s Newest Hit Makers. When I look at the photos, it takes me right back to 1963 and the excitement that went with those albums.

That’s it exactly; the woman was actually the one who sued to have the cover changed.

Always liked the “Head East Live” front cover.

EDIT: I heard a rumour that buddy tried to duke it out with Tad’s vocalist over the issue, but that was probably just a rumour.

Sonic Youth also had some terrific album covers. Here’s one I actually owned.

And another instant classic. AFAIK, the people in the picture have never publicly come forward.

As a longtime R.E.M. fan, this is my favorite album AND cover of theirs.

Inside ZZ Top’s Tres Hombres album

Isn’t that just awesome? Damn! Makes me dip-shitty for a Mexican feast every time I see it!

Spitfire - Jefferson Starship

Weasels Ripped My Flesh - Frank Zappa and the Mothers of Invention

In Search of the Lost Chord - The Moody Blues

In the Court of the Crimson King - King Crimson

Some great recs here.

Loved Los Angeles, first from X.

Enjoy the two images that inspired it:

(pissed that their ever first 7" - an actual photo of huge nail driven through old man’s upturned nose - cannot be found anywhere on i-net:()

Raymond Pettibon, an artist now based in NYC, did lots of great albums/gig posters for punk bands in the late 70s/early 80’s. Here’s some Black Flag record covers:

Me, too!

You mean that red baseball cap?

Already posted but I forgot Melton Levy and the Dey Bros.

I’ve always loved the old-school sci-fi awesomeness of Blue Oyster Cult - Cultosaurus Erectus

Ultra Lounge, Fuzzy Sampler its actual animal print velvet.

One of Tools albums has ridges on the cd door and if you tilt it back and forth its an old school moving image. You can pull the insert out and change the cover to get several different ones.
