Speaking of Don Henley, for some reason this sticks in my mine - decades back I saw him in concert, and was rather impressed by a sharp looking Tango he danced with a female singer to the outro of “Hotel California”
No love for their last album, “Long Road Out of Eden?”
“No More Walks in the Wood.”
“How Long?”
“Busy Being Fabulous.”
Right now I’ve had “What Do I Do With My Heart?” running through my head the last few days. One of their trademark soft slow tunes full of loss and longing.
Don’t get me wrong. I have all of their albums and I love the balls out rockers like “Get Over It” and “Life in the Fast Lane.” But I’m also a sucker for their tight harmonies on songs like “Hole in the World” and “No More Walks in the Wood.” There are just too many good ones for me to name.
LOL! My husband and I have this discussion about the talk show too (he claims I “ain’t goin’ on Carson; Mike Douglas maybe” My husband is so cute). My theme would be “Midnight Train to Georgia”, but these two songs are my favorite Eagles songs. I prefer Seven Bridges Road slightly over Desperado because I, too am a sucker for a harmony.
We had an Eagles spin ride at the gym - no Seven Bridges Road, Desperado or, pbta, Hotel California, which I hate.
Peaceful Easy Feelin’
I Can’t Tell You Why
I did enjoy the documentary. I was in jr. high and high school when most of their stuff came out and it was nice to have their perspective on the tunes I grew up with.
For me, it’s a three-way tie between “Desperado,” “Hotel California,” and “Take It to the Limit.” I never get tired of hearing those songs. They could put 'em in endless rotation on the radio and I’d tune in.
“Take It Easy” is the one Eagles song I really, really love. I’m not sure why, but I connect it to a particular time in my life c. 1995-1996 that was pretty important in my development as a person.
