Oh, that’s easy.
Bathing in the milk of virgins while dozens of young asses frolic around my naked body.
Wait. There’s something not quite right about that.
Genuine answer? (and it’s a shocker) Retiring to the bathroom for one of those half-hour sabbaticals with a good book and a beer.
I watch Beverly Hills 90210 ever afternoon after work. It comes on at 4:00 and again at 5:00 so I only get to watch the one at 5:00 but on the weekends it’s on at 9:00 a.m and 10:00 a.m. and I get to watch both!!
CagneyFan, I too am a Brady Bunch buff! We should have a quiz off or something because I’ve probably seen every episode 10 times, even the cheesy movies they made. And what about the Brady Brides!!
I read old Hardy Boys books–but only the ones prior to the late 1950’s rewrites. I especially enjoy rereading the ship-sinking sequence at the beginning of The Hidden Harbor Mystery (1935). Too bad the book is so racist after that.
I also have my own coloring books and crayons. (I’ve even gone back to the store and bought extra copies of a coloring book I liked.)
I like to read TSR fantasy novels and sometimes science-fiction novels. They are hidden in a shelf in my closet, while the other, more respectable sounding titles I’ve read (I, Claudius, The Iliad, The Odyssey, Cosmos, Beowulf, To Kill a Mockinfbird, various biographies) are in the bookshelf in the living room for everyone to see as soon as they enter.
Ed Wood movies and a six pack of MGD. Those crack me up (the movies I mean, I’m not sitting around laughing at beer bottles, that’s just weird.)
I like Real World, Road Rules, and the Real World/Road Rules Challenge, and I also have a crush on at least one member from every cast.
I like Archie comics.
I like “Rock and Roll High School,” and I have seen “Rock and Roll High School Forever” probably about five times.
I go to Barnes and Noble at least four times a week, and have special ordered three books because I have a mad crush on a guy who works there.
I don’t know if this counts, since most of the people I know in real life know this about me, but I love Looney Tunes and the Cartoon Network and I collect comic books, Spider-Man and Deadpool being my current favorites. (I’m one of the rare few whose mother did not throw away his childhood comic collection, and some of the ones I have are worth over $100 now.)
I too am a Real World junkie…and Road Rules, to a lesser extent. I was watching the RW casting special the other night, and my mother called me long distance…here is a rough approximation of that conversation…
mother: “Hey, I haven’t heard from you in a week, so I was just calling to see if you’re alive.”
me: “Oh, I’m fine…is this just a random check up??? Cause I’m watching the Real World…I’ll call you later.”
mother: “Well your sister is coming into town and…”
me: (interrupting) “Yeah, that’s great, I gotta go…I’ll call you back…love you, bye”
mother: “But, I want to tell you…”
me: (interrupting again) “Sorry, I’m missing the Real World, gotta go, bye” [hangs up]
Now, I’m not usually such a bad offspring…but COME ON…it’s the Real World Casting Special!!!
Okay, I’m ashamed of myself now.
My guilty pleasure is trashy trashy romance novels full of fantasy relationships that are never possible. i can’t stop reading one until the happy ending. ahhhhhh…
Since when are colouring books and crayons a guilty pleasure? I need to go out and pick up a few more. Last one I bought was a Pocahontas one. I also love those trace books and the invisible ink ones. Whats so bad about them?
If they are guilty pleasures well well thats just crazy. I would then include such things as…
[ul][li]Bubbles. C’mon you know you love em[/li]
[li]Singing silly songs. Like Great Green Gobs of Greasy Grimy Gopher Guts. You know you want to sing it.[/li]
[li]Building Lego cities to just destroy them with your plastic dinosaurs.[/li]
[li]Going to the candy store and buying a whole ton of penny candy. or Lik-m-Aid’s (with the sticks and flavoured sugar)[/li]
[li]Wading in the fountains. (where you are allowed to wade not where the police will arrest you if you do ;)) I love Olympic Plaza. Its such fun to run around in the water.[/li]
[li]Romance Novels I concur it is best to sit and read them with come chocolate and pop.[/li]
[li]Playing with some toys in a bubble bath.[/ul][/li]
Yah… There we go.
