I stood on a kitchen chair to put something on a high shelf. The chair was not as stable as I’d assumed and suddenly it tipped and I fell to the floor. Fortunately, I managed only to bruise an arm pretty good and cut my foot. I guess I’m thankful that I didn’t break anything.
My father dreamed he was fighting someone and threw himself out of bed into his dresser. Scraped head, small split in nose.
He has since installed a restraint system.
I broke my big toe about 3 weeks ago. Wasn’t paying attention and stubbed it on a concrete curb while wearing sandals.
My shoes were tied, there was no crack, line or lump in the sidewalk and I managed to throw myself into a fairly major injury.
Several years ago I was waiting for my daughter to finish work, and decided to walk the puppy up and down the sidewalk while we waited for her. We ran a few steps and I tripped over nothing at all. I managed to cut both sides of one hand, badly enough that I needed stitches on both sides. I also broke a front tooth and spent the drive to the hospital assuring my poor child that I wasn’t dying while bleeding all over everything. This is only the most memorable of my self injuries due to a complete lack of grace.
