Ihave used my dogs’ vet for about 21 years now. I trust him 100%.
I had the same doctor from birth until age 26, when I moved away.
Second longest is our stockbroker, who we have had for 18 years.
I am sure I will stay with my current hair stylist until she retires, or one of us moves away or dies. She’s all kinds of awesome. Ditto with my dentist. I love her too and will be majorly bummed if/when I can’t go to her any more.
Yeah, but do you know your waitress’ name? Ours is Jo.
Got my first pair of glasses when I was 7 years old, and continued to see Dr. T until after I was married (my husband started going to him too) and until he retired. I forget exactly when, maybe around 2000. So about 25 years.
Mr. S first took a dog to see our vet in the mid 1980s (well before we met). So that;s probably 30 years. Our vet rocks – I dread the day that he decides to hang it up. He’s the only vet in our county and his office is about 4 miles from our house. And he cheerfully answers questions over the phone.
Been seeing the same NP for my annual lady bits inspection since about 1992 or so.
Same (locally owned and operated) bank since 1993, and Mr. S had been going there for years before that.
Me too. And the same pediatrician, for almost as long.
The longest I have ever lived in one location was seven years, so that would be it for me.
This house is the longest we’ve lived at one address, although in the past we’d lived in one county, just changing houses a few times. Despite that, our relationship with our auto mechanics here - probably 5 or 6 years now - is the longest and best we’ve ever had. I’ve had 3 doctors in that time and, OK, the same dentist, but I only see him twice a year. We’ve got 3 vehicles, so we see the mechanics lots more frequently.
In the past, we’ve had mediocre to terrible mechanics, so it’s wonderful to have these guys who not only do a great job, but who know us. I also appreciate that when they talk to me about my vehicles, they don’t use the condescending “you’re just a girl” tone that I’ve dealt with over the years. I’m no automotive expert, but I have some good general knowledge, and they recognize that. I
them much.
Not me, my mum.
She saw Dr. Christopher Spalding for the first time when she was 16 years old and threw out her back.
She’s turning 49 in November.
Been in Sydney for 15 years so have severl decade plus professional associations but I’m a flibbertigibbet compared to others in my family.
My grandmother saw three GPs in her life of almost 90 years, Dr Moysey, his son and his grandson who all practiced from the same surgery.
Nan & Gramps also purchased 27 cars from the same dealer, roughly one every 2 years throughout 60 years of marriage.
My parents got married in 1958 and adopted a dog from my father’s mother. They started taking the dog to a veterinarian new in practice. My father died in 1989, but I have continued to use that vet, who is now in his 80s and in practice with his son. So I guess my answer is that I have been using the same veterinarian since I was born, as I would have accompanied my parents on their visits. That’s six dogs’ worth.
ETA: and I had the same dentist for 35 years, until he retired.
I never personally was his patient but I know a dentist who is still practicing in his nineties. My mother, who is 76, was his patient when she was still in school.
It’s very possible he’s had some patients who have been seeing him for more than sixty years.
Bought our first car shortly after we were married in 1979 and randomly chose an insurance agent. Local State Farm guy. He has insured all our cars, houses and other random stuff for the last **32 years **-- never had a problem with claims, billing, accessibility or emergency services. We picked . . . wisely.
I forgot about my eye doctor - I still see my pediatric eye doctor because I love him although he’s more “interested in the eye diseases of children” than “loves doctoring kids” - when I have an appointment I have to sit in the little chairs with the illustrated Bibles and the play enclosure. So that’s probably 26, 27 years.
