I think the government intentoinally wanted the public to think the were hiding secret UFO/aliens vis-a-vis the Roswell incident.
They did this as a distraction to keep the public from getting too curious about what they were really doing which was developing stealth or whatever type military aircraft.
It’s hard not to think the whole Trump thing is some sort of conspiracy. I mean, it’s way too ridiculous otherwise. I just don’t know who’s running it (not the donald, he’s too dumb) or what the goal is. Maybe OP is right and he is trying to get Hillary elected.
Every conspiracy theory is part of an overall government black ops effort to make people focus on garbage and get into a panicky Chicken Little mindset, so they’ll be powerless to resist the Giant Pharma Alien Lizards when they land.
Sociaol Security Disability process. Intentionally designed by law-writing lawyers to lay golden eggs for their fellow lawyers back home.
Apply on your own, you are automatically denied, but the retroactive payment clock starts. Hire a lawyer, who has an incentive to drag his feet for two years, because he is allowed to charge 30% of any retroactive benefits that accumulate with a two year limit. After two years, in which you have no income, the lawyer gets a hearing, submits the same application you submitted two years earlier, gets approved, takes his 30% of maybe $25K in lump sum back payments.
Lead paint was not banned due to the health risks (note, I’m not saying the health risks aren’t real) but because it prevents certain types of surveillance equipment (like infrared cameras) from penetrating the walls of houses.
I’m not completely sold on it, but it has a ring of truth to it, and does a CT really need any more than a ring?
Mine is that Sarah Palin’s “son” Trig is actually her grandson, the offspring of her son Track and an unidentified woman who’s been paid a lot of money to keep her mouth shut.
The longer this goes on, the more unlikely that it’s true, but whatever the scenario is, I don’t think she incubated him.
One that’s existed for several decades (and I have never personally believed) is that the heel stick that’s done on newborn babies to draw blood to test for various metabolic diseases is actually the implantation of a microchip. :dubious: Ca. 2000, I had an opportunity to ask some OB nurses about it; they all said it wasn’t true, but I knew that already, and it also wasn’t the first time they’d been asked about it.
Lead paints were banned in most countries in the 1920s. That pre-dates infra-red cameras by a few decades. Lead paints only remained popular in the USA because of lobbyists. Amazing.
Lead additives, BTW, were drying agents. Heavy metals are still used for this purpose today. Just different ones.
There are still millions of homes in the USA that have not had the lead paint abated. If the guv’mint wanted to peer into such homes, you’d think they’d fund abatement efforts… But, alas, funding goes down nearly every budget cycle.
TPTB are inflating crime statistics and using the media to get people too scared to leave home. To keep them (us) quiet, they first pushed cable TV and now the internet. Tied to the lack of income growth over the past decade for the ignorant masses, many people can no longer afford their vacation home in the scenic areas driving down prices for those that can afford it. Also reduce the amenities in and size of public recreational areas or raise the prices to make what was an annual trip now a several times in a lifetime destination vacation. Control the price of fuel and don’t repair the roadways, make it undesirable for those same masses. Let us stay home and watch the tube.
<edit> Interesting the average home’s internet access has the same tech as Orwell used in 1984. I think he set the story 50 years too early.
The assassination of John F Kennedy makes no sense as a government conspiracy. If some group inside the government wanted to kill a President, they’d never do it by shooting him in public view. They’d get the President someplace where he was isolated and then make his death look like natural causes.
Which is exactly how Franklin Roosevelt supposedly died.
The Heaven’s Gate cult had been financing their operations for years by designing websites, always intending that some years after they hitched a ride on the comet, a bug that they had written into the design of each website would go into action and DESTROY THE INTERNET!!!
Pretty much the angle but really in the mean time the poor person trying to get the disability money mysteriously dies the next day after being approved, of course after the lawyer gets his money
If anyone has been thru the process, my sympathies. Just another government pain in the asp. Just gives more government paid positions out to the elite
Definitely. This one is so transparent and obviously true, it’s difficult to even classify it as a CT. I mean, for cripes’ sakes…lots of these disability leeches (attorneys and non-attorneys alike) use their status as “used to work as disability examiners for SSA” as a selling point in their ads! It’s such a racket.
My other two (Trump and ACA) have already been mentioned as well. But I’m not sure whether those are true, or I just want them to be true, because the alternatives (that Trump is for real and the ACA is genuinely the best we can do) are so much more horrible.
If very old subjects count, I believe that Jefferson Davis was released from prison and the charges against him dropped because Commodore Cornelius Vanderbilt wanted to use him and other Confederates to take over Nicaragua, rule it as an American-Vanderbilt puppet, and there build a canal and have a monopoly on Pacific:Atlantic traffic. I’ve accumulated tons of evidence on this theory, and if it’s not right it is DEFINITELY true that Vanderbilt wanted Davis free for some reason (in spite of losing his favorite son in the Civil War).
What I don’t think Vanderbilt counted on was what a total ideologue Davis was and how much he truly WANTED to be put on trial. (I think Davis gladly would have gone to the gallows if first he could have had a trial for treason and been a martyr.)
I gotta admit, I have a soft spot for the conspiracy theory that Oswald acted alone and shot JFK . . . prompting a bungling Secret Service agent to accidentally discharge his own weapon into the president while trying to play gun-toting bodyguard.
Do we want to stand up and tell the world, yeah, turns out that not only can’t we protect the president, but we’re so inept that we shot him too! Funny stuff, right? No. No, we don’t want that; who would that help?
So all the stuff about the implausibility of Oswald firing that many shots in that short a time, or the ‘magic bullet’ trajectory, or whatever, would actually be decent points; the problem is, they wouldn’t actually lead to the obvious conclusion that someone else meant to shoot the president that day. And all the signs of a cover-up? Yeah, that’s because there was a cover-up; but the logical next step – assuming they covered up some secret assassination plan – is completely incorrect.
So it glosses over how it “makes no sense as a government conspiracy … they’d never do it by shooting him in public view.” Conspiracy theorists get to agree that, yes, it would make no sense; and, no, they’d never do that – and then, in the same breath, get to add, that said, yeah, a government operative shot him in public view and there was a government conspiracy to cover it up.
It’s like a magic trick where you shuffle the deck and say “is this your card,” and if they reply “no, it was the five of clubs,” you pretend to be stunned before reaching into a pocket to triumphantly whip out the five of clubs – because all 52 cards are stashed all over your outfit, and you just waited for a cue. It’s like that, only if you accidentally showed the right card, and then just never reached for a second one: no, I agree that it made no sense, and couldn’t have been planned that way!
The dueling or counter-CT is that TPTB are lowballing crime statistics and suppressing crime stories to trick Amurricans (who should be living in single-family detached houses in a cul-de-sac subdivision and driving Hummers as the Founding Fathers intended) to live in tiny condos and ride communist trains in the godless cities so “those people,” the Democrat-voting predators, can more easily victimize them.
And at the same time make flying so cheap that people who wear sweatpants all the time and carry their luggage in Hefty bags do it. :smack:
I think operating systems (iOS/Android) along with service provoiders and device manufacturers purposefully slow down performance on a continuous basis in order to get people to upgrade to faster devices and services on a continuous basis.
Funny how an iPad/Galaxy/Verizon/Comcast internet in 2010 is lightning quick and now 6 years later after numerous performance and software “upgrades” the things become dog slow.
