The level design in the demo was mind-blowingly cool in parts, but the gameplay didn’t hook me quite enough to make me rush out and get it. Seemed cool enough, though.
Just found another one (after arguing w/ my friend about the pronunciation of it).
Birgitte: Bear jzhee
had an embarassing moment when i was discussing the series with a friend and mentioned egwene, which i pronounced “edge-win”… don’t know how the hell i came up with that.
We pronounce that ‘Bir Geet’.
You know, I’m reading WoT, like nearly everyone else, but am I alone into thinking that Robert Jordan has completely suckered me? I’ve read something like 8000 pages. Has Robert ever heard of ‘tying loose ends?’
I liked the last book a lot better than the previous 4 though. A lot more happened. For that I was grateful. I like books 1-4 and the last one much better than 5,6,7.
don’t you mean 6 7 and 8? Cuz alot happened in 5 that I remember. And a few loose ends were tied in 6 and 7; however, a lot more were created.
I don’t think that he keeps on creating new things on a whim; it took Jordan 10 years to plan the series. I believe that it’s because of his massive foreshadowing that his series is so successful.
I will agree with you on book 8; even though his going through recovery at the time does help explain the book, it still shouldn’t have been rushed.
Yeah, I might have meant 6,7 and 8. I don’t have the books in front of me and I haven’t read any of them since the last one came out, so I forget which number/name is which.
I do recall getting really tired of the phrase ‘cold as winter’s heart’ in the Winter’s Heart book.
You seem to have a LOT more faith in his abilities than I do. I think Robert doesn’t know how to pace things and I think that given his success, he has ceased listening to his editors who BEG him to trim down on the verbage and get things going.
yeah, he can be abit long winded. but, it looks like he has no choice but to tie up a big plot thread with a certain rebel group led by a certain Aes Sedai in book 10.
