When Did Food Prepared by White People Become Synonymous With Bland?

Bland white people food. And bland food in general.

I’ve just moved to a patio home in a senior community. One of the perks is meal credits for the dining hall, which is supposed to be very good. On the specials menu for next week is Kielbasa with Pierogies. That, along with Veal Piccata, is the only food that might be called “ethnic.” (Tbh, Italian is not considered ethnic in Rochester; all other food is.) So either they do an ethnic food a week for variety or pierogies are considered as mainstream as Italian.

When I was in Poland some years ago, most of their food seemed beet-based to me.

I’m not sure if it was mentioned in this thread, but last time I checked, France, Italy, Germany, Greece, and Spain consisted of mostly White People and their food isn’t considered “bland”.

I was in Poland a couple of months ago, and beets were served in every meal outside of McDonald’s and other fast-food places.

I like German food, but it tends towards bland.
