I would agree that it’s fair to say that there’s been some dumb posts about Trump (that he’s illiterate, that he’s got some amazing 4D chess strategy going, etc.). Trump is just an idiot who gets bored easy. It’s really that simple. He got into the job because most people are idiots who get bored easy and the country has been steadily been moving towards true Democracy for 200 years now. He has mass appeal.

But I wouldn’t particularly fear for the future of the board based on this. The fact that you immediately get hit with popups would, I imagine, be the real thing keeping any potential newbie from even considering joining the site or even lingering long enough to read a couple of posts.

There have always been stupid posts on the SDMB and there will always be stupid posts on the SDMB. That’s not unique to the last few months.

I have no dog in this fight, but it is a little depressing when 75% of the OPs in the Pit are either directly or tangentially related to Trump. It makes you guys seem a bit like the politics obsessed, crazy uncle who relates everything to the President.

Even before he was sucking Trump’s dick, he always had such creepy opinions about women- he likes to point out all the sexism against men there is in this world. And one time he got super-duper angry and told us all about that time he saw a women in the park caught in the rain, and he was baffled as to why this women wouldn’t share his umbrella with him. Gross. Obvious answer- because he probably comes across as a total fucking creep.
