When did Quartz become such a tool?

Yes, I recall that, although your version of events is once again perpendicular to reality. One Mr Farage complained about Obama daring to suggest that the Leave campaign shouldn’t be making claims about what kind of trade deals America would give the UK post-Brexit - I mean, how dare the US President have a view on what the Leave campaign said US trade policy should be! Then after Our Nigel made a big song-and-dance about how foreign politicians shouldn’t get involved in domestic politics, he promptly went over to the US to get involved in the US election, once again demonstrating what a lying hypocritical asshole he is.

Rudeness, arrogance and cluelessness abounds here, but not in Obama.

And yet, as I said, you don’t seem to have a problem carrying water for him on occasion.

Actually, Obama’s intervention was indeed not well received, but neither was Trump’s.

I don’t have a problem challenging some of the rubbish said about him. If you stop and think, I’m sure you’ll appreciate the difference.

It’s the lord’s work that you’re doing.

No, it’s Cecil Adams’ work. You know, fighting ignorance.

Stick to things you know: Annoying sheep and falling down drunk.

Yes, Obama’s intervention was not well received in a “How dare he point out that we’re making things up?” way. The Leave campaign got caught out making unsupportable assertions and reacted by blaming the messenger rather than, you know, refraining from making things up.

I appreciate the difference. I’m not yet convinced you do.

I agree that that thread showed mental rigidity. Also, remarkable arrogance. On the part of you, and a couple of others who went with the same approach.

That approach being “I personally only know 2 or 3 ways that a certain magic trick can be done, therefore it must have been done one of those ways, and the details must therefore have been in accordance with one of those methods. And if the guy who the trick was actually done on, along with other witnesses, saw with their own eyes that something else happened, well that can’t be so, because after all, I don’t know any way it could have been done based on those details.

You’re not that smart. You don’t know that much. There are other people out there who can do things that you’ve not thought of. The fact that you can’t think of a way for a trick to have been done doesn’t mean it wasn’t done.

This is something you would be well advised to learn and accept, not just in this instance but as a general rule.

Oh Dear,

Still a lot of rancour after the Brexit vote, deary me.

Like it or not, the decisions done - democracy means having the freedom to make decisions, good or bad.

Same goes for the US

…and your alternative to democracy, in all its imperfectness is?

Maybe you should leave that one to people who are better suited for it.

You’ve promoted far more ignorance on this site than you have ever combated. I can’t recall seeing you ever contribute much in the way of significant information here.

Quartz is a longtime warrior for truth, and a Bronze Starfish recipient.

You might try reading some of the computer-related and British-related threads.

On reflection, you’re just behaving like a bigot who can’t stand people who think differently and dare to question the One True Democrat Way.

Hokey smoke. I was the audience member that trick was used on at the Magic Castle a number of years ago. It took me like 5 seconds to figure it out.

Trump Wumpa doompety dillabyles
Your efforts at musical satire clearly involve an excess number of syllables.

You can’t make tools out of quartz. The only uses for quartz are to give them as gifts, or to craft items such as sprinklers, lightning rods, crystal pathways, etc…

…oh wait, sorry, thought this was the Stardew Valley reddit.

Here’s a challenge for Colibri and Gyrate: find one - just one - thread in which I have defended Trump against a justified charge.

Frankly, I’m deeply concerned that not hating Trump sufficiently (or even - gasp - at all) is grounds for accusations of being a troll or a tool now.

This is not a productive situation.

I remember a thread where people were discussing Trump’s poorly rolled out immigration executive order that also hasn’t done too well in court. A poster came along and defended Trump’s ill-conceived actions with a ridiculous hypothetical in which Trump might have been completely justified if he was trying to “zap” terrorists and had secret reasons for doing it this way.

Really? One court has stopped it; it’s still trundling its way through your legal system. And the hypothetical was not a defence but a hypothetical.
