As an American, I first met The Doctor on PBS. Not a child but a young hippie chick, I found Tom Baker’s Bohemian Doctor quite attractive. Even though he was too old for me…
I didn’t follow the later Classic Doctors but have admired all the New ones. Matt Smith is far too young for me–but The Doctor is at least 900 years old, so it’s OK! (Don’t judge me.)
Don’t know. Never saw it much until recently, and even then, not much.
All I know is that I used to catch the Wild Colonials every time they played nearby, a few dozen times over a couple of years, and all I could think as I watched Paul Canteloneonstage with his violin is that he looked like ‘Dr. Who with a violin’. I suspect it’s more the ethos of Dr. Who that’s sexy than whatever body he’s currently inhabiting.
Heterosexual male as well and while Dr Who has never done it for me I have to admit I’d go gay for Captain Jack Harkness, odd because he hits all the boxes that are usually a turn off, but he’s so damn charming and likable he manages to pull it off…
I had a little bit of a thing for 4 when I was younger. But 9 made me want to melt into a puddle of protoplasm. Chris Eccleston takes my breath away in general, but as The Doctor… ooh.
Tennant was OK, I guess. Didn’t do much for me in that respect, though I did love his portrayal in general.
While I have never wanted to bang any of the Doctor’s regenerations, but I do think Tom Baker’s Doctor is like the quintessential cool uncle that knows all kinds of cool shit and turns you on to all the best obscure music.
