When do you expect the first snow of the season?

Getting back to the OP’s second question, about how long snow lasts, here’s this thread from last year:

I normally don’t take the snow tires off until the end of April. Good thing - what started as a gentle snowfall yesterday has turned into a full-blown blizzard. Went out for an errand a few hours ago but you couldn’t tell from our car now - fully covered , no footprints visible, even snow coverage on the whole thing. Good thing we’re working from home. Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow!
