I want the Honor Harrington universe done - politics, battles, etc.
I think it was more the logistics. There is only so much time in an episode. You can’t waste 5 minutes watching him try and get out of the car. If the car was the only thing changed I wouldn’t have a problem. I think most of the issues with the show were due to a low budget.
One of the strengths of these stories was the more realistic version of space combat. No space fighter planes zooming around like they are in the air shooting lasers at each other. But those realistic battles take time. It would be a challenge to keep the battle physics realistic and maintain the pacing needed for a show. The Expanse does a decent job of it but at much smaller distances.
Those of you who mentioned Zelazny’s Amber are about to get your wish.
Likewise, those of us who wanted to see Martin’sWild Cardsmade into a series.
Peter Clines’ Ex-Heroes series would be great for the mini-series format. Superheroes vs zombies.
Or how about Peter Hamilton’s Commonwealth series?
