I went with the popular rather than specific definition – because we are not in an artist-only environment and I wanted to mention my favorite composer (JS Bach) that the common definition of “Classical Music” would support.

I understand. However, doesn’t “classical” music encompass the Baroque, Classical, Romantic, and Contemporary eras? I grew up learning classical music, and no teacher ever chastised me for using classical as a catch-all for these four eras.

Jazz- Duke Ellington, Ella Fitzgerald, Dave Brubeck, Louis Armstrong AND of course the wonderful amazing musicians at my school
