Hijacks:
Sales Tax: New York State - or at least the counties around the south of Albany where I live - has no sales tax on clothing, but does have sales tax on everything else. I don’t know whether it’s good or bad, because I grew up mentally adding 8% to every price tag to compensate for tax, and don’t really miss the tax on the small amount of clothing I buy per annum.
MBNA: I’m 19 and I have two credit cards, one a Verizon Visa and one an MBNA MasterCard (branded with my ex-college’s alumni association). The MBNA card has a higher limit and lower interest rate than the Verizon. If you’re in a crappy position to be getting credit cards in the first place (like me - no credit history), they’re not that bad.
So long as there is a Nicola’s Pizza in Rehobeth, Delaware shall always have redeeming value to me.
Don’t knock Delaware, shopping with no sales tax is good for me.
racin: NY has no sales tax on clothing purchases under $ 110, due to the fact that people were leaving NY to go buy clothes in New Jersey due to their lack of sales tax on clothing. So it covers the whole state. Or you could live in Florida where there’s no income tax.
Erek
Maybe we should have a DE Dopefest. “Come see the evil!”
Ahem, Delaware does not exist!
Err, I’m pretty sure the guy who wrote it was joking.
