When it’s a hatch. Why are some hatchbacks referred to as a door? I was watching a show about cars. The featured car was a Honda Civic 2-door hatchback, but it was referred to as a 3-door. Is there a definition of door I’m missing? It seems to, anyway, that a door on a car would be one that allows a person access to a seating position. None of these so-called 3-door or 5-door cars meet this criteria.
I thought this was going to be a question, and I was going to say “hatchback”. Yeah, so you can’t really get directly to a seat, but it is opened with a key, and you can get inside from it. So, I guess it qualifies as an entranceway.
My Escort is considered a 5 door. Pretty stupid sounding, huh?
I thought this was going to be a reference to those annoying “The door is ajar” reminders.
And here I was going to answer that it’s when the door is welded shut so you have to jump in Bo and Luke Duke-style.
