So this came from another random conversation. What does the term “cabbage pocket” make you think of, if there is an ethnic association with it for you like your(German,Polish,Russian, Jewish) Granma used to make them please add it.
Why the hell would anyone eat cabbage in bread? Blech.

I would assume it refers to some version of stuffed cabbage, which is usually ground meat + filler in cabbage with some sauce on top.
If I think of anything at all it’s a cabbage in someone’s trouser/shirt pocket.
Cabbage rolls, or something like them.
This is possibly the first time I have seen those two words together.

Other than “something I don’t want to eat”, I thought of a cabbage-based filling. For it to be a pocket, I think it needs to be bread. I’ve never heard stuffed peppers called “pepper pockets”, for instance.

I think of Bierocks (or Runzas). Bierocks are delicious.

I guessed a bread pocket, not too far away from a pita pocket or some kind of pirazhok. Since you mention Polish, Russian etc. that’s definitely what I think, and it sounds good!
Ma never made anything of the sort, so no anecdotes. I’ve had fabulous Russian food though. 
If someone in real life ever said ‘cabbage pocket’ to me, I would now think of this thread. Previously I would think they were using a creative euphemism.

Ditto. WTF is a cabbage pocket? I’m guessing some sort of cabbage roll, but it’s not a term I’ve ever encountered.
Actually, this is the first thing I thought of when I read the thread title, assuming it was some sort of slang for vulva.
First thing I thought of was the birth canal for a Cabbage Patch Doll. That’s because I’m sick in the head.

If someone said the phrase “cabbage pocket” in front of me, I’d call in the orderlies to take him away. The fuck is a cabbage pocket? Sounds like something “Aqualung” would have in his coat…

Lesser than the Cabbage Belt, some areas and neighborhoods of the midwest have a Cabbage Pocket? ( Slavic Pop.) Hell if I know… never heard the term.
