When *this* celebrity dies, *that* song will be played endlessly

Actually, I think Pearl Jam’s lullaby Around the Bend would be most appropriate, taking the lyrics into account.

Or maybe Just Breathe if it has to be a radio hit.

Let’s face it: they’re going to play a lot of songs when Eddie Vedder dies.

Peter Gabriel will get “Solsbury Hill”. Not only is it arguably his most popular song, but it contains the line “Son, he said, grab your things I’ve come to take you home.”

Ozzy is more identified as a solo performer with Crazy Train. I think of Iron Man as a Sabbath song.

OTOH it could be “Thank You, Republic Airlines”, the song his fans continue to demand. How ironic that he’s keeping alive the memory of an airline otherwise long forgotten by singing about how crap they were.

I concur - Art will get “Bridge Over Troubled Water” in the US but “Bright Eyes” in the UK. “Sound of Silence” or “You Can Call Me Al” for Paul.

I would have guessed “Paranoid”.

“I tell you to enjoy life, I wish I could but it’s too late.”

My first thought was Graceland.

Willie Nelson - On the Road Again

George Jones - I don’t Need No Rocking Chair

Madonna-“Material Girl” or “Like a Prayer”

Eric Clapton - “Layla” (original version)

Mark Knopfler - “Brothers in Arms” or “Money for Nothing”

Not “Spies Like Us”?

Axl Rose - Knockin’ on Heaven’s Door
Cher - If I Could Turn Back Time
Sting - Can’t Stand Losing You
Mick Jagger - The Last Time
Pete Townshend - The Song Is Over
Bono - I Still Haven’t Found What I’m Looking For

“Rio” by Duran Duran. :stuck_out_tongue:

If either Dieter Meier or Boris Blank die, I imagine the song would be Oh Yeah.

Natalie Merchant-“Carnival” or “Wonder”

How about “Save a Prayer”?

Dennis DeYoung - “Come Sail Away”

How about “Whoosh”?

Two people that should have been mentioned very early on in this thread: Jimmy Buffet and (may I die before her) Celine Dion.

Mrs Thatcher - Ding Dong The Witch Is Dead.

:dubious: I don’t think so. Have You Ever Seen The Rain is much more likely.
