And Joe Jackson.
Although it’s obvious which songs will be played for Jimmy Buffet, “Margaritaville”, and Celine Dion, “My Heart Will Go On”, what song will be played for Joe Jackson?
“Steppin’ Out”?
“Breaking us in Two”?
“Is She Really Going Out With Him”?
Warren Beatty will, presumably, get You’re So Vain.
What about Robert Plant? Maybe “Stairway to Heaven”? Or “Heartbreaker” for Jimmy Page?
“Just A Gigolo” for David Lee Roth?
Is it possible these were missed? They seem so obvious:
Billie Joe Armstrong (Green Day) - Time of Your Life
Tina Turner - The Best
CSNY in a plane crash on the way to a reunion tour date in Cleveland:
“…four dead in Ohio…”
That, or “Mary Jane’s Last Dance”, which is a goodbye love song.
If Sammy Hagar dies in a car wreck, “I Can’t Drive 55” might be appropriate.
grrrooooaaaannnn…
But it would be interesting to see what gets tagged to each of the individuals as they drop - Neil will likely get from his solo material, Heart of Gold or Hey Hey My My. Stills may get *Suite: Judy Blue Eyes * but he could also end up with Buffalo Springfield’s For What It’s Worth. Nash is closely identified with quite a few CSN(Y) hits including Marrakesh Express, Our House, Teach Your Children, and Wasted on the Way and I suppose the last two would be the frontrunners. David OTOH could have a few Byrds tracks proposed as well.
I’d say Morning Train for Sheena Easton, but it will more likely be gag Sugar Walls.
I bet Garth Brooks will get The Dance instead. Seems like that song got played a lot whenever anyone famous died for a while there.
When Darius Rucker dies will he get a Hootie song or a song from his country music career?
Stills could get “Love the One You’re With”
I think Crosby would get “Almost Cut My Hair”.
For Alice (bite your tongue!), I was gonna go with “No More Mr. Nice Guy.” And for Steven Tyler, I’d say maybe “Dream On.”
Considering Billy’s age, a more appropriate choice might be “Only The Good Die Young”
I would bet a lot of “Son of a Son of a Sailor” and “A Pirate Looks At Forty” also. Going to depend on the audience.
Ric Ocasek-“You Might Think” or “Magic”
If Murray Head dies in the same place in the same way as David Carradine, it will be so fun to watch newscasters try to keep a straight face as they read the story to the background music of “One Night in Bangkok.”
If Lee Majors dies, will they be playing the instrumental theme to The Six Million Dollar Man or the theme to The Fall Guy?
