When to check post-fraud credit reports?

Wife received credit card statement today, and after investigating a suspicious transaction, we determined it was fraudulent. The vendor (ironically, an outfit that provides credit report monitoring services) refunded the $1 transaction, and then we called the CC company and had that account number shut down; a new card is on its way.

And now, we’d like to check her credit reports from all three credit-reporting agencies to see if there’s any shenanigans going on. Question: should we check them ASAP, or should we wait a few days/weeks for any and all fallout to make its way through the system and into the reports?
