I expect that the coming Democratic appointee (the position is currently vacant) will be equally compassionate to the bereaved regardless of party, ideology, and even personality. If I’m wrong (and I’m pretty sure I’m not wrong), it will be a sign that the Democrats are becoming almost as bad as the Republicans.
And almost 20 years closer to dying than when he married Melania.
So she wouldn’t have to put up with him for very long before getting her payout.
So not a bad deal at all.
He can lie in state, he can lie in the ground. One thing is known, he will lie.
Donald Trump is essentially a traitor. Someone who has a problem with that being celebrated is not “almost as bad” as the people who supported a criminal and tried to destroy a democracy.
I predict “Kiss Him Goodbye” will get played a lot. I hope whoever wrote it gets something from it.

Donald Trump’s funeral, and any associated lying in state, will be a celebration of his life. Interfering with that would be a gift to the GOP.

Celebrating his life would also be a gift to the GOP. It legitimizes a criminal, which is wrong no matter how you slice it.
I suspect his funeral will be much like Nixon’s. No celebrating, just mourning from a few friends and family members. I’m not convinced Trump will even get that. Instead, those that make excuses for him will be the only ones present.

If I remember correctly, and I didn’t pay that much attention to it so I may not, several of the other former presidents, maybe all of them, attended Nixon’s funeral. Probably because if you don’t attend other people’s funerals, they won’t attend yours.
