An even bigger impact on the 100. But he is no more likely than either to permit a monetary loss to affect response, no matter what the delusions of his haters: he has lost millions before.

He tends to be a vindictive SOB. When he has lost millions before, has it ever been in a situation where he could blame someone other than himself or something nebulous like “market forces”?
My fear is that a plane running into Mar-a-lago (or however that’s spelled) will cause him to get all pissy and send bombers to the Middle East. And then it’s only too possible all hell will break loose.
I think a Trump military response to an ISIS attack on one of his properties would be an effective recruiting tool for ISIS. And I think they know that.
There would be some risk; probably more from the president exiting the building and mingling on the streets of New York being greeted by his loyal citizenry, rather than terrorist suicide bombers sneaking into Trump Towers dressed as maintenance staff — however he has been doing this so often since long before he won the presidency, it’s not like this is anything new.
Presidents are rarely attacked anyway, but one sees why the security forces prefer to keep them in that giant hamster cage where all threats can be neutralized, rather than living in their own homes.
I think the fact that Trump doesn’t seem to take the job of President seriously, the fact that he is picking conspiracy theorists for high level cabinet positions and that he has private buildings all over the world increase the odds of an attack.
Also I’m sure isis wants a ground war, and I’m sure they feel Trump will give them one if they attack big enough.
I voted “Other”, because the people responsible for detecting and preventing these type of attack are at a lower level of government, and we don’t know (all speculation right now) how Trump and his people will affect their performance.
That said, while I do not think there is an increased chance of an major attack on US Government facilities, Trump buildings around the world may well be eyed for action; a coordinated assault in 3-4 locations all targeting trump properties could lead to…interesting times.
Badly, almost certainly. Competent and moral people will refuse to work for them, resign and be replaced by the incompetent, corrupt or those desperate enough to compromise their principles and work for him. The same thing happened under Bush II; since Trump and the current crop of Republicans are even worse than he was, we can expect the same effect but larger.
This. A Democrat president would remind us that not ALL Muslims are our enemy. Trump wants an excuse to nuke someone, literally. We’re never going to hear Trump telling us not to hate our Muslim neighbors, friends and coworkers. Quite the opposite I’m sure, and that’s exactly what ISIS wants. Right now we’re at war with certain radicalized elements of Islam, but Trump will make it a war with Islam with no caveats, and again that’s exactly what ISIS wants.
Trump and his Muslim registry are ISIS’s dreams come true. They will do everything they can to provoke him into making those promises a reality, which will do nothing but help prove them right and bolster their numbers.
Combine that with a President who can’t be bothered to listen to security briefings, much less act on them, and I would not be at all surprised to see another 9/11-scale attack on the U.S. during Trump’s presidency – followed almost immediately by Muslim registration and an unprecedented level of violence against anyone even suspected of following the Islamic faith.
America is in a weakened state after his election. Of course our enemies will take advantage of it. Probably just after he is sworn in when no one will be at the wheel. Hopefully the war hawks and profiteers he is appointing won’t use the opportunity to declare war on Iran.
Then again, he’s supposed to be a non interventionist so he might just say, “Oh well” and return to tweeting about Rosie O’Donnel. He doesn’t have a real long attention span.
