Oh fer chrissake, is this not the Pit? If someone is a gluttonous, fat arsehole and irritates a Doper, do they not have the right to call it like it is and vent about it (and the same thing for the lazy SOB who’s leeching off of his sister)?

I mean, sure, it’s true, you could be insulting a specific fat/deaf/wheelchair/gay person, but do you really think that no one else who belongs to that group will NOT be insulted? Maybe not all of them, but a lot of them?
And while it is also true that we all choose to be offended (no one FORCES us to be upset by comments, no matter how rude) do you really think that we should just sit back and not react or respond to cruel or tacky comments? Come on. We are all human beings. All of us have feelings. Some will be offended more than others, some will not be offended at all. But that doesn’t mean that it’s all of a sudden OK to say whatever we wish, without consequences.
Look at the current flame against pkbites because he said some not-nice things about gay people. But hey! What’s the big deal? All of us who were offended CHOSE to be offended! So why is he getting his ass flamed, then? Why is he getting a negative reaction for his comments? He does not specifically insult any gay Doper, so why is everyone getting upset by what he said? Obviously everyone is choosing to be offended. Yeah. That’s it. :rolleyes:
