When Was The Last Time You Fell Out Of Bed?

I asked the question ‘Why Don’t Adults Fall Out Of Bed Like Children Do?’ over in GQ, and I figured this was the place for the follow-up:

When WAS the last time you fell out of bed…and why?

Thanks

I think the last time I fell out was when I was 16?
I went to get the phone after a night of drinking and found out I was on the wrong side of the bed and ended up falling on the floor and just passed out there.

The only times I’ve even fallen out of bed are when I’ve been pushed by someone. :stuck_out_tongue:

I think I was about nine. I actually rolled right off the bed while I was asleep. Whch would have been fine, if I hadn’t smacked my head on the edge of my nightstand. I think my subconscious mind got the hint after that.

well… I don’t know if this counts… I think I was still sleeping.

I woke up for school when I was 16, I got out of bed but my legs just did not work… I could not move my legs so I just fell right out and started laughing my ass off because I could see myself in my mirror… I got back into bed and took the day off because if yoru day starts off like that… you are in for one crappy day…

Hm. I fell out of bed last week. Not an unusual occurrence for me. Of course, I’ve got a myriad of sleep disorders/irregularities so I’m not sure I could be considered typical in anything relating to sleep. I toss and turn a lot, all night long, and I sleepwalk. I’ve taken to stuffing pillows around me on either side to lessen the chance of me falling off. Seems to help greatly.

I don’t remember ever falling out of bed.

I was maybe eight, and I fell out of the top bunk at camp.

Ouch.

I was probably about 10, and in a cabin with a whole bunch of other people. I was on the top bunk. I’m used to a double bed, but the bunks were very narrow and much much taller than normal bunk beds. There was a hard wood floor. I fell out headfirst. However, I just reached up, grabbed my blanket, and went to sleep on the floor. I woke up the next morning what the hell I was doing on the floor. I had no memory of falling. However, I did have one hell of a headache and my neck was stiff for days. To this day, I always sleep in the bottom bunk.

I don’t remember the circumstances, but I think I was at that age where I didn’t want to acknowledge that there were some occasions that I still needed “my mommy”, but wasn’t quite able to give up the comfort of her coming to me in a time of pre-adolesecent need. Anyway, I remember calling for her to come to me, but in a quiet voice, so my brother, who slept in the same room, wouldn’t hear (I didn’t want him to know of my childish need (not that he would of made fun of me, which I know now, it’s just that I didn’t know he wouldn’t do so at the time)). When she didn’t come (obviously because she couldn’t hear me), I got the great idea that I would fall out of bed instead, rather than raise my voice, and if she came, then I would be able to say it was because she heard me fall onto the floor. I must have been around 9 or 10 at the time, and to answer your question, this would have been around 1971-02.

I sleep on the floor. With a pad. Never fall off of floor. At least, not yet.

I was 20. Much like Monica, mine involves the top bunk.

I’d just moved into a new dorm room that very day and it was my first night on the top bunk. I went to get up to use the restroom and when I went to stand up … no floor! I dropped like a ton of bricks onto my quickly buckling legs. Didn’t hurt nearly as much as you would think considering that the floor was old tile.

I think it was when I was about 10 or so. I was doing somersaults on the bed at the time so it wasn’t a big surprise.

I fell out of bed a few months ago,I olanded on an end table with a glass cover thing over it. Borke the table, almost broke the glass, could have broken my neck.
