When will the word "cool" be lame?

‘Sucks’ will never be ‘lame’, it’s just too perfect a term. Indeed, very soon official voting will be done using ‘Sucks’ and whatever replaces ‘Cool’ (which will not be ‘Rules’*, lBTW), instead of the archaic ‘Nay’ and ‘Aye’

‘Dude’, I dunno, right now it’s either that or ‘man’. Either are still better than the 1920’s style ‘Brother’ or the Soviet ‘Comrade’ - “Yo Comrade, don’t be sh**in’ me!”

You’re just trippin’, man…

*‘Rules’ went out with Beavis & Butthead, right?
And what’s with all this ‘Rules OK’ nonsense from the UKians anyway?

As long as I keep on truckin’.

I think the reason “cool” has lasted so long is because it is refreshed by pronunciation changes.

I remember saying “coo-all” in the 70s. Then it changed to (IIRC) “cooohl”, later “cuhl”, “kewl” and a bunch of others. Or am I just nuts?

Here in Denmark it seems to live healthily too. “Fuck” and “cool” are the two most used English words, I think.
