When will you resume recreational air travel?

For car trips only, or does the advice include air travel as well?

My wife and I will have both had our shots by May 4. We’re planning to fly down to FL to see her dad for Father’s Day. Neither of us has traveled since early February 2020.

And we’ve booked a vacation for August, back to our favorite beach house on Anna Maria Island in FL. Last year was the only year since 2009 that we hadn’t spent a week there.

I just flew to & from Las Vegas. We carried a full boat both ways. The airport was crowded at midnight. The streets and casinos were crowded during the day.

Recreational air travel is back. So is Vegas. I think the Vegas crowd was younger and less Chinese than it was pre-COVID. But of you’re a college person on spring break or a 30-something dragging 2 or 3 kids, you’re out traveling right now.

Whether you should be out traveling is another question.
