Do you have post-coronavirus vacation plans?

My Beloved and I are thinking about spending a week in Flagstaff, with a probable side trip to the Grand Canyon. What about you?

Not immediately, since who knows when this will end, but I had a trip to the UK planned for this July; that’s been cancelled and I’m trying to reschedule it all for next summer in hopes that things will be better then.

My trip in May to Scotland has been reset for May 2021. Cross your fingers.

Other than that, we’re thinking of a trip to California just for fun.

And, of course, summer on the Puget Sound is the best vacation.

We had a trip planned to Niagara Falls a couple of weeks ago. We will reschedule but we are not picking a date yet.

I had to reschedule various mini-vacations and city breaks for which I had already paid half the accommodation. Refund was not an option.

I had wanted to take a road trip down CA-1 this summer. That’s been postponed due to the virus. I’m playing wait and see now, haven’t made any reservations yet, but I’d still like to take the trip once travel restrictions are lifted.

We go to St Martin every January/February for two weeks. Most years we’d have purchased our airline tickets by now, but we are holding off.

Every summer for the last 20 or so we’ve had a family reunion in northern California. All the cousins, aunts, uncles, grandparents are there. It’s always a lot of fun and everyone looks forward to it.

I doubt it will happen this year.

I do/did. Sure it won’t happen. :frowning:

Well, if there is a general all-clear as far as travel is allowed, I’ll be hitting the road for 6-8 weeks. No particular destination in mind at the moment, my usual M.O. is to head for good weather. There’s also a chance I’ll go to New Zealand (north island) when international travel opens up.

They aren’t vacations but I’ve got a ton of work trips that are stacking up. At this point I’ve got two trips to Paraguay, two trips to Texas, one to Wisconsin, one to Louisiana and one to Oregon. We normally do a California vacation in the summer but all my first and second quarter trips have been rescheduled for third and fourth so I’m not sure I’ll have time for fun this year.

I’m the restless sort and live for my two travel weeks in the year. Before the virus erupted, I had vacation plans in place for the Skagit area of Washington (for a stay of this week), and for Hawai’i in October. I of course canceled the Washington trip but am keeping the Hawai’i plans in place for now. Hopefully things will turn around by October! We’re not getting any younger and the five-hour flight is getting more arduous all the time. I want to see Hawai’i once more before I can’t make that flight anymore.

But we’ll wait and see how it goes.

Everything’s on hold.

I was going to take a Princess cruise -Canada/New England- with a friend this fall. The idea was that we would do something together.

It’s pretty obvious that’s not going to happen. There’s a really great retreat in Costa Rica that we have both attended before, we picked the cruise instead of the retreat but that was our second choice. Don’t know if that will happen, either. Everything’s up in the air.

I probably will take a car trip with another friend to Pennsylvania this summer. We have a mutual friend there, plus I’ve got stuff in storage in NYC that I really want to get. That’s not my idea of a real vacation, but it’s better than nothing.

I have several friends (my old Dungeons & Dragons group), with whom I’ve taken a long weekend every fall for the past 30 years. We rent a condo at a resort in the Wisconsin Dells (a tourist area in central Wisconsin), and play role-playing games together for several days.

We’re still tentatively hoping to do this again this year, but we’re definitely holding off on reserving a condo for a few months, until we see how things are looking – not just from the public health situation, but also depending on finances.

I’ve been to 25 towns in southern France, but haven’t seen much of northern France, outside Paris and a few day trips. So several towns in N. France beckon my husband and me.

But first, I have to get my spinal surgery, once hospitals are less risky.

Doesn’t look like it’ll be this year.

We had a family gathering in Yosemite planned for the first week of June. It’s been rescheduled for mid-October, but I still doubt that it’s going to happen.

Going to Yellowstone and Utah this September. Had to cancel our Christmas in New Zealand trip. Hard to fit a 14 day quarantine into a 21 day vacation.

I put a deposit on a cruise this September – it probably won’t happen but I have until late June to see what happens.
Some college friends get together every summer. It is often Memorial Day weekend but it we were thing 4th of July (pre pandemic) – haven’t actually set a date
Sometimes it isn’t far away but this year it is scheduled for Bishop, CA (last time flew to Vegas and rented a car)
I did a bike tour in August but I wait until June to sign up.
Some of my family are traveling – scheduled for June but who knows.

On hold for now. I was going to Easter Island on a great fare, but that is obviously not feasible at the moment.

Have plans for a trip to Marseille in October. It’s looking unlikely, but we’ll keep the plans for now.

My wife has been trying to get me on a cruise for the last few years. Yeah, that’s NEVER going to happen now.
