When you hear "Captain Jack", who do you first think of?

Aubrey

Russell Crowe in Master and Commander

Billy Joel, all the way.

My cat, Captain Jack … but I mostly just call him Jack. He was named after Sparrow but Sparrow and Harkness pop into my head equally depending on how recently I have seen or discussed Doctor Who or lusted after Johnny Depp.

Billy Joel. It’s one of the songs by Joel that I think doesn’t suck, and that I actually like hearing.

I don’t think of Jack Sparrow as “Cap’t Jack,” even though that’s what he insists. He’s just Jack Sparrow to me. I never saw Torchwood or Dr. Who (DON’T HIT ME).

The song. Not the Billy Joel song (although I like it), but the Gary Eckstein song from 1981.

Billy Joel, failing to master his domain.

Another song or better yet, ‘performer’…oh those lovely nineties.

Has anyone mentioned the Billy Joel song?

Hey, me too!

Billy Joel

My brain went right for “Happy Jack” by the Who. ?

Yep. And now it’s stuck in my head. Thanks a lot.

The Billy Joel song

The Billy Joel song, for me.

Putting captain in front of a first name always makes me think of pirates and alcohol. So Jack Sparrow.

Jack Harkness almost immediately followed by Billy Joel.

This DDR song.

I played a lot of DDR back in 2003-2004. This was one of the hardest songs in the game that I could do.

I’d get it confused with Captain Morgan and think it’s a brand of rum.

Cap’n Jack Harkness. Of course, I just watched him last night so he’s fresh in the mind.

Rum, rum, rum. If Captain Jack isn’t already a brand name, it ought to be!
