+1. The Via is the only instant coffee I’ve made in years & years. I actually had some this morning.
I have a feeling you’ll find it to be almost, but not quite, entirely unlike tea. 
Holla if you can’t get the babel fish out of the machine. Make sure you take the peanuts from Ford at the pub.
It was about 20 years ago for me.
When I was interviewing for my first job, the hotels had instant coffee in the room. One, at least, had a special very-hot-water faucet at the sink to make it with. Now hotels have all moved on the four-cup brewers, and I’ve moved on to brewed coffee made from whole beans.
Within the last week, actually. I don’t drink it all that often we but always keep some Hill Bros. Instant Cappuccino (mocha for me, French vanilla for her) on hand. It’s good for making coffee ice cream as well.
