Where are Heckyll and Jeckyll?

I haven’t seen this cartoon in at least 15 years. Even more surprising to me, I haven’t seen anyone mention it on these boards despite the endless permutations of the various cartoon threads. (Yup, I did a search.)

So why isn’t Heckyll and Jeckyll shown on TV anymore? Why doesn’t anybody talk about it? I thought the two magpies were much wittier than either Mickey Mouse or Bugs Bunny.

I loved Heckle and Jeckyl when I was a kid.
They were from the same studio that made Casper, and I haven’t seen any of their cartoons in ages.

Heckle and Jeckyl were done by Terrytoons and released their cartoons theatrically through 20th Century Fox. As to why they aren’t on TV anymore, I guess it’s up to whoever now has the rights to show them.

Casper was done by Famous Studios (who also did the post-Fleischer Popeyes) which released their cartoons through Paramount. Later, Harvey Publishing acquired the television rights to the Casper cartoons and replaced the Paramount opening credits with ones of their own. (I always thought the Harvey/Paramount cartoons were pretty lame though.)

“Tally Ho and away we go/see you next week with a brand new show!”

Did they speak with regional accents?

Heckle spoke with a Brooklyn accent, and Jeckyl had a British one.

I vaguely remember their cartoons getting yanked off TV because of some “Violence in Cartoons” hoohah - back in the 70s, I think. I haven’t seen them since.

Heckle & Jeckle occasionally turn up on Boomerang on Cartoon Network.

I haven’t seen Heckyll and Jeckyll for years. This is one thing that ticks me off about Cartoon Network (and TVLand too). There are tons of old cartoons and saturday morning shows that are just sitting in some vault, rotting!

I know that Boomarang channel shows some of them, some of the time, but I want to see more!!!
Pink Panther, Hot Wheels, Roman Holidays, Run Around, Archies TV Funnies, “GO”, Talking with a Giant, The Barkleys, Kroft Super Show, ETC. These are just a fraction of the cartoons I haven’t seen for 25 years or more. Where are they? Just sitting in some vault turning to dust!

In fact, HERE is a list of all the cartoons I demand they play!

Note: I wasn’t referring to Boomerang the channel but rather Boomerang the series. It’s on Cartoon Network, Sundays, 4PM Eastern. At least I think it is; for some reason TVGuide.com says that “boomerang” is a kids’ news program filmed in Australia.

My cable provider doesn’t carry the Boomerang Channel.
