Where are they getting these US flags to burn from?

“So, handy, where are you that American flags are scarce?”

Monterey. I saw a woman in the store the other day with one I was gonna ask her where she got it. At any rate, might be more now.

I got the city flag too, near impossible to find.

Apparently, flags were a bit scarce after everyone started snarking them up.

Maybe that explains the 15 star / 15 stripe flag I saw hanging in one of the local bars.

Ah, well, maybe California is different. Here in Montana, we have flags coming out all orifices.

If some company is exporting these flags, maybe they should think about making them out of asbestos impregnated material. **

Or maybe gunpowder or some other highly flammable material, if they burn the flag, they too will burn!

That’s the Star-Spangled Banner (1795-1818). It probably has another, actual name, but I call it that since this was the flag that flew over Fort McHenry after a big battle, leading Francis Scott Key to write a poem that would become the lyrics to our national anthem.

Originally, they were going to add a stripe as well as a star to the flag for each state, but they decided against it. (It must have taken a while: the next design had 20 stars and 13 stripes, so the 15 and 15 flag was used at a time when there were more than 15 states.)

Around here, (Pittsburgh) you couldn’t find a flag to save your life. At KrapMart, we’ve had the same sign up since the week of the attacks stating that we’re out of them. We’ve gotten word that we’re going to get some in, BUT, we’re NOT allowed to let the customers know, because we have no idea when they’ll be here.

Hope this isn’t a hijack, but,. What’s up with STEALING flags??? My boss put flags (2 U.S., 1 Canadian) on a couple of bulldozers that he has displayed for sale. American tourists have stopped for pictures. Alas, dickheads have stolen them. Sheeesh.

I can’t find the link anymore, but I read an article last week about a flag STORE that was robbed of nearly all its American flags. Ones which had been specially ordered for specific customers at that.

Then again, someone told me about some thieves who returned a flag they stole days or weeks before Sept 11. So there’s still some decency in people, deep down.

I can’t find any flags here in Illinois either.I’d buy one online, but I have dumped all my credit cards.
