Just to check, it is the existence of God’s love that does this, not the belief it exists?

Wait it needs a bit more editing:
Artist: Do you like my work
you: Yes it’s magnificent
Artist: How would you like to live there after you are finished living in your current picture, which btw I created also.
you: Sounds nice, how can I do it
Artist: Well you remember that person who told you about me and my picture, you know the one you nailed to a cross.
**You: Right, the plan you should have known about since you created the world and know everything that’s going to happen? The guy who you knew was going to rise after 3 days so it really wasn’t much of a “sacrifice” since he died but really was okay in the end? By the way, since you can do anything and hate sin, why didn’t you just create humans to be sin free to begin with. Seems like an all powerful guy like you could have done that without having to send your son down here to get killed. Gee, for an all-knowing God, you sure can’t plan very well.
**
Artist: He is my Son and here with me, do as he says and believe in him
You: is that it?
Artist: yes, but just be aware once you enter this picture you will know all truths, you will feel joyously grateful each moment of each day forever and out of your free will sing my praises forever, and take additional joy in that.
- addressing the other side -
you: Well what if I don’t follow your Son?
Artist: You are free to enjoy running your own life in your current picture, which as I pointed out before, I created and I rightfully own. But that picture will shortly be thrown into the lake of fire as a new picture will take it’s place.
And this differs from having the loaded gun of hell cocked against your head how??
I find this statement hilarious. We aren’t worthy? Well, who made us that way? God made something that wasn’t good? Or wasn’t good enough? And god loves us even though we aren’t worthy? Well gee whiz aren’t we lucky he’s loving beneath himself. Gosh I certainly hope he doesn’t go and make some people who are worthy of his love and forgets all about us. And we’re adopted too? Great.
I don’t understand how anyone can hold this kind of… hmm I’m having trouble coming up with a non-insulting word here, let’s go with ‘opinion’.
How? I mean, i’m not sure how we would self-destruct without something but are perfectly fine to go about and not percieve its existence.

I have really enjoyed the vast array of voices posted.
I can see the Kingdom of God coming…
The only way the Kingdom of God is truly revealed to us is by acting upon what we believe the scripture is saying—for example, what the acts of the Apostles revealed to us on the day of Pentecost.
The day of rest cannot be entered into by argument and debate.
We believe in God, we act according to His commandments, and the truth is revealed (not only to us but to others standing by)—that is faith.
The result or culmination of our actions, according to our belief in scripture, is the substance of our faith in God. Thereby—and if we truly labor to enter the day of rest spoken of in Hebrews 4—we see the kingdom coming.
Heb 11:1 Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.
We will not see the kingdom in toto, in its fruition, until all on the planet believe the scripture to be true, are born again, and act in faith—in other words, when the last trumpet sounds. We attain this place through edification—by treading on the high places of the world system. And that means, raising all nations (ethnos in Greek) or ethnic groups into a place of belief that is far above the heavens, where God the creator and His Son Christ Jesus dwells.
I love history, however, history does not and cannot reveal when the end of the world as we know it will come—there is no time frame. We are saved by the faith of Christ Jesus and the prophets and the apostles and those following who believed in God and acted accordingly—so, we are saved by faith. Moreover, others will be saved by our acts of faith. Christ Jesus then, is the tree of life—His words are spirit and they are life. His words, the words of God, will live forever.
My authority is that I am saved by the faith of Christ Jesus and the faith of others who were born again and saw the Kingdom, and that was by the Grace of God.
I have been given to see the kingdom coming…
Blessings
That is a excellent example of how followers of Jesus are engaged in spiritual warfare, not against flesh and blood.
We were made lower then the angels, yet we are the ones to become God’s children, not them. This is may be what caused 1/3 of the angels to leave God.
Before that picture is thrown into the lake of fire you would have long ago destroyed yourself anyway. You living in this current picture is a gift from God, a extra chance to accept his gift. So you can say that the ‘gun to your head’ was already shot - you deserve to be dead already, and also you will find that you were the one to pull the trigger.
Not sure exactly what you mean. Are you asking how we humans would self destruct without God existing, but we’re fine to go about not believing in God (though He exists) and not self destruct?
By going to foreign countries and praying for property damage?
Doesn’t it strike you as a little demented that they think destroying a bunch of statues is striking some blow against anything? That strikes me as a bizarre form of magical thinking, not unlike stabbing a voodoo doll.
So angels are worthy? And 1/3 of them left god, I take it they were the ones cast down? Since worthiness seems to be based on how you were made, are the cast out ones worthy anymore? Why were the angels worthy and we weren’t? Why would god choose us over the angels?
‘Were not worthy’ is just another method of control. ‘You’re evil and theres nothing you can do on your own to change that, but if you think these thoughts and do these ceremonies that we happen to have here in this book youll be good’. If they can convince you that you’re powerless or ignorant or bad or evil or whatever, and that they are the only ones who can help you or save you or the only ones with the real truth, theyve got you.
Not wanting to hijack I’ll just say I disagree. I’ve read the popular scriptures that are interpreted this way. IMHO a closer reading and study of the HS. shows it is that which connects and guides us all. Secularist might call it intuition or gut instinct or simply the inner voice. It resides within us all and is something we can be in tune with as we learn to strip away our ego and whatever programing our culture and upbringing instills on us.
In totally worldly terms yes that would be it praying for property damage, but in in totally worldly terms praying doesn’t do that, so in totally worldly terms they caused no property damage - so there should be no problem. In the spiritual realm it is quite different what they did and what God did.
Not at all.
It would sound bizarre for someone not born into the spiritual world and grounded in the physical world.
Wow…I was going to offer some thoughts on what I thought the OP might be about but in light of this testimony I believe I misunderstood.
You said this
was an honest question but it appears you’ve already decided on the answer.
Just so you know, people who don’t believe in god or any gods, or your particular version of god, can have just as much love and compassion for their fellow man as any Christian. The prize may not be a promise of eternal life on streets of gold, but a desire to make the most of this life and to try and leave the world a better place for future generations.
The angels are more worthy then us, but no they are not worthy to be adopted children of God either. The only one worthy is Jesus Rev 5:13. The 1/3 are the ones cast down/out.
The cast out ones are condemned already - so no they are no longer as worthy as the angels that stayed with God, though they still retain their angelic abilities for now. God choses the week over the powerful, chooses the least of us, not the best of us as for why God does it that way I don’t know. Jesus came to earth to rule us via service to us.
This is not what Jesus taught. Yes it has been corrupted to that in many places, but it is not scriptural.
If you are being told this you are listening to the Devil himself, Jesus is the only one who can save you. Jesus will give you His Spirit to guide you. That Spirit will not come in the form of a religious leader, it will be inside you.

So, I deserve to be shot simply because when given a “choice” I didn’t make the choice the assailant wanted?
By this logic, the vicitim is always to blame.
**Example:
Fair and infinitely just being: Okay you have a choice, you can either like what I gave you or I will shoot you in the head.
Me: I don’t like what you gave me, it doesn’t seem like a fair choice.
Fair and infinitely just being (shooting me in the head): Well, I GAVE him a choice. Gosh, can’t anyone see that I gave him a choice?? Either do as I say or die! Come on, that’s fair!**
Also, by this logic all followers are merely cowed into accepting Jesus because of threats and fear. Yeah, that’s the way to get someone to sincerely believe in you.
If you were on the street and someone told you to love you or they would shoot you and you’d die, would that automatically make you love them? And even if you decided to keep your life and told them you loved them, does that mean you sincerely love them?
I don’t think you actually are saved. I urge you to change the direction you’ve taken in your life before it is too late.
If you meet someone in the street after you fatally wounded yourself, your death is now assured and he gives you the offer of being resurrected in paradise, how is that fear based? If fear of Hell is motivating one to be/stay Christian then something is not right - it is love for God.
He won’t take me to the hospital unless I say I love him? That’s fucked up, man.
It gets better: if you ask, God will also rain down earthquakes on the idols of funny brown people.
