A cop just shot down a deaf man, who was attempting to sign to the officer. The deaf man was unarmed.
He’s not black, is he?
…a cop didn’t just shoot a deaf man: he was shot a week ago.
And I’m not sure what you want to debate. Is this a General Question? Perhaps you should ask the mods to move this thread.
No, I am asking why BLM hasnt staged a protest, why there is no outrage. A unarmed man was shot & killed, at first glace without justification, by a cop. One man is black the other white.
Why no outrage?
You are asking why Black Lives matter has not staged a protest over the killing of a white man?
…if this is what you wanted to debate, then maybe next time you start a thread you should consider putting that information in the OP. That way people would know what it was you wanted to debate. (Not speaking as an authority, just offering some free advice.)
I’m seeing plenty of outrage. Did you not read the articles you posted in your OP?
Recreational Outrage goes in The BBQ Pit, not Great Debates.
You will next find it there.
How many deaf, white guys were killed by cops in the last 5 years?
Not to minimize this guy’s death, and he almost certainly didn’t deserve to be killed. But if there is not a systematic problem that needs to be dealt with, then I don’t see why we can’t let the existing oversight methodology run its course.
The OP is nothing more than a logical fallacy.
It very well might be the case that the is a problem with how chops deal with deaf people.
If you think that’s the case then start that conversation.
However, just mentioning it doesn’t say anything about whether Black Lives Matter should be doing something about it and it doesn’t act a some kind of evidence that Black Lives Matter’s point is illegitimate.
“OP” is a confusing term–it can mean either “Original Post” or “Original Poster.” If you’re trying to say that DrDeth is nothing more than a walking talking logical fallacy, you nailed it.
Works either way, I guess.
Not true. It’s rare that logic and DrDeth are even on the same continent, thus he can’t be a logical fallacy.
I’m pretty upset about it. I don’t know about outraged, but, you know, outraged in the moral sense I think is fair.
So, right here. Is the answer. To the question you’re asking, I guess.
Incidentally, are you a stupid idiot?
How come the American Cancer Society is totally silent regarding Diabetes? Obviously, they don’t care how many people suffer!
ETA: More seriously, if there were a protest against this killing, I would bet that there would be a Black Lives Matter presence, sympathetic to the issue.
(And, sure as ducks are ducks, some jackasses would complain that BLM is trying to “horn in” on “someone else’s” tragedy. Damned if you do, and damned if you don’t!)
This seems like a job for White Lives Matter. I mean, can’t a hate group protest for a good cause now and again?
I have a sneaking suspicion this isn’t going to work out quite like DD thought it would. And I suspect we won’t see anymore of him in this thread.
Fuck diabetes, why hasn’t the ACS said anything about THIS tragedy?
While we’re at it, I see DrDeth is upset about this killing, but suddenly he’s silent about DeShawn Franklin? Hypocrite.
You probably would have gotten more traction and sympathy if you were complaining about blm taking a pass on helping all the black families affected by the flooding in Louisiana.
Baton Rouge Police Emerge as Unifiers After Flooding, Black Lives Matter Protests
That’s what I expected to see when I came into the thread.
Man, fuck Breitbart. Black Lives Matter is, for anyone not paying attention, an organization that’s trying to lower police violence against black people. If this organization doesn’t work hard to lower asthma rates among black kids in LA, or heart disease rates among black women in Wisconsin, or diabetes rates among black men in Kingston, that doesn’t make them hypocrites.
Shouldn’t it be DLM?
Also, “Black Lives Matter” doesn’t mean “Only Black Lives Matter”. But I’m sure you knew that.
