Years ago there was a hat shop in Old Town Alexandria that may have been called Hats in the Belfry. I don’t know it it’s still there.

There’s always Brooks Brothers as well, though a quick check online shows that they have boaters and Panama hats, and are thin on fedoras for the spring.

I bought my Borsalino fedora at the Philly store last year. Wore it today in the snow, as a matter of fact.
“Hats by Haber” is a private hatmaker in Wheaton/Silver Spring. Haber has had some famous clients.
