Where can I get parts for my 1959 Oldsmobile?

I have a 1959 Oldsmobile ninety-eight, and need a few new parts for it. Mostly interior related. My car is in fairly good shape, just mostly looking for small detail things.

I live in Calgary, so local places would be good, although any internet sites that are selling parts would be good too, or places where I can get a catalogue.

Any info would be helpful.

Thanks.

As a start, I’ll suggest www.RockAuto.com, which has a huge amount of parts for a vast number of cars, models, and years. Start there, and see what you can find. I did a quick check, and they do carry parts for a 59 olds, however I didn’t go further than that.

Then, do a search with Google, and put the info about your car in the search. A number of parts companies will pop up, and some may specialize in GM cars from that era.

You’ll find auto clubs that will also have information for you. Depending on the popularity and demand for your parts, you may find the parts you want to be very easy to find. However if they are not in demand, a manufacturer probably won’t make a run on the product if they think they won’t make any money on recreating the part. If you own a 60’s mustang, you can literally rebuild a brand new car from a few catalogs. The cost will be incredible, but with a popular car like that, someone restoring one will probably need just about any part you can think of…

Good Luck!

Isn’t that a line from a movie? It has a strange ring of familiarity about it.

This is a great site!

Can you find me one just like it for a 68 Mercury Cougar?

No info here, just envy. My buddy’s grandfather had a '59 Olds 98 that he kept in immaculate condition. We got to take it out for a spin a couple of times; what a beast! You have to love a car with such outrageous tailfins.

Cuba?
