Where Can I Obtain Banboo Rods?

I ask because I saw a show whwere you can cover forniture (wardrobes, and dressers) with half-sections of banboo, and the effect is really nice. I just don’t know where you can get 6’ sections of 1"-2" diameter bamboo anymore. I remember that carpet stores used to wind carpet roles on bamboo rods-but now they use cardboard tubes-anybody know where I can buy these bamboo rods?

At a garden supplies centre?

Bamboo for sale.

(I did a google search on “bamboo” and “dia.”.)

If you live in an area with any size Orthodox Jewish community, this is a very good time of year to get bamboo. Go to any store that sells "Sukkah"s and ask for bamboo poles. They should have them in stock.

What Zev said. Several such places are on line. Try:

Sukkah Depot
Leiter’s Sukkah
Esrog Warehouse

Hopefully these fine folks have what you want. But act fast - in two weeks, most of these guys will be closed until next year!

Oh man, this stuff is a curse where I live. We try to get rid of the stuff and it is very tough to kill. IIRC it is a large grass not a tree.

Try to find someone who has it growing on their property, if they are like me they would be glad to have you come cut some. Use a fine bladed saw (like a hacksaw) to keep it from splitting.

We have that same look that the OP is referring to, but it comes in the way of wood molding that has the bamboo motif carved in. If the OP isn’t after total authenticity, you can get this molding at any home supply store, at least around here.
