We’re about to start making another short movie and I need a place to audition actors.
We have a very limited budget. Somewhere close to zero dollars. So I don’t want to have to pay for anything.
I used a Starbucks for our last film but I want to try something more professional looking for this film.
I’m in NYC. Any ideas on how someone could get a decent looking room for about a few hours?
Try a school. It might be low cost/free and may have a stage area that would be ideal for such a thing.
Don’t you have a couch?
Do you have a friend who lives in an apartment complex that has a party house/room? You can get them for cheap or free sometimes.
Find a martial arts school and arrange use of their workout floor in off hours.
Any of you still in school or recent graduates? That could make renting a room a lot easier.
I’d say ‘Do it in your apartment’ (as long as you’re safe), but if you’re short on money, I’m assuming you’re also short on living space…
Do it in a park…maybe even Central Park. There’s probably a bench or picnic table or something you could use. Might even be a covered pavillion around somewhere…
